I'm buying a used 6 station Diamondback 2007 Rseries :o  First auto.

Compressor size and the average cost?

They want to sell me theirs but we haven't discuss price on it yet.

You can run the press on a 5HP compressor. You will need a refrigerated air chiller as well. Look up compressors and chillers on line at www.grainger.com (http://www.grainger.com) for comparative pricing.

A "fully packaged" compressor comes with an after-cooler, automatic drain and a low oil switch.
If you need to strip a lot of humidity... an aftercooler (on the compressor) assists your refrigerated air dryer.
"Dry air" and press reliability are directly related.

A single stage air compressor will not do the job (for any great length of time).
