Title: Solar Active UV Ink
Post by: ffokazak on February 07, 2017, 01:43:34 PM
Do you guys know of any good sources?

I found Solar active online, the cost is just south of 1000$  a gallon...

Any alternatives or are we stuck with those prices?

Thanks!

We run Matsui.  Arm and a leg for that pigment, but it's cool as all get out.  HSA all around for this.  Excellent color and "return" to neutral for most pigment colors.  We print it over white HSA with also fantastic results.

Based off our cost for PC I think 1k/gallon finished ink is high.  We're something like 1k/gal of PC loading at 15% into base.

Hope that helps, I'll go back to crating your equipment up now...

Excalibur carries solar active ink as well, I bought their yellow and cyan a year ago.  Advantage with theirs was it was fine to white base that ink.

Comes in purple, blue, yellow, magenta.  Yes expensive, I believe $500 a gallon, paid $170 for a quart.  Magenta is probably the most expensive.

I'm actually wondering if anyone produces a red/magenta wb pc that's photochromic.  That onestroke link suggested doing cmyk with it which sounds freaking bananas and I want to try it.
