Hi Everyone...
I need to get 2K shirts from Washington, DC to Kent, WA.
Any recommendations on special freight carriers?
My staff has priced Yellow and UPS, and it ain't cheap. Par for the course, I guess...
Figuring 1500 shirts per pallet, maybe I can get 2K shirt on one pallet.
Mostly size SM - MED..
Any insight as to how to best proceed? All advice appreciated.
John

Go to uship.com and put in the info, most respond immediately. Freight is hugely variable, someone may have a backhaul
going that way (though completely coast to coast isn't common) and you'll get a deal. Yellow has been good to us for bringing
stuff in from elsewhere, but that's the logistics of living in an export area. Outgoing is usually much more and they are usually
all about the same, to within pennies even.
Watch putting too many boxes on a pallet though, anything hanging over will get crushed, and if it's too tall and topples
you're sol.

I am no expert, as we never ship that much. But I'd contact Unishippers for a quote, and probably look for other freight co's., too.
Quite a few years ago, I worked in shipping & receiving, and dealt with Unishippers a lot.

Put your zip code in there, and you should find contact info for the DC location.
I have a friend who says good things about uship.com, but I've never used them personally.
