Title: Was it worth it
Post by: bimmridder on April 21, 2017, 12:39:17 PM
So over the last few months, especially around ISS LB, there were many talking about wanting/needing/planning to upgrade equipment. So I'm curious, was your change everything you dreamed it would be? Manual to auto. Film to CTS. Brand to brand. (not looking for names per se) Just wondering how you all have fared. There was a bit of excitement, but it seems to have waned. Curious minds.

Wasn't an upgrade but a piece of equipment that turn out to be a big ole paper weight  :(

The last big thing we bought was the single head Barudan.  I am still very happy with it...it keeps the 6 free to sew larger runs while we do samples or names.

We have an auto hooper on order right now, we have a huge order for duffel bags and they are a pain to hoop by hand.  I'll let you guys know how it works.

Going from film to DTS was the single best thing we've done here.  I know it's been said over and over but days like yesterday when I went through 33 screens during a day of various jobs and not once having to touch a micro.  It is actually more than I dreamed for the better.

Manual to auto has been great. I still use the manual a fair amount since I'm not 100% on how to run certain jobs on the auto. But the versatility of having both presses is great and now that we're really starting to get busy, I'm glad we took the plunge.
