Looking for some advice. I'm getting anl Volt in and am wondering ...should I have an unload station or extra print head? It will be an 8/6 or 8/7. If I got the 8/6 I'd get the stand for the flash if I ever needed to put it on station 7 to run a 6 color job (I don't have these that much). If I got the 7 print heads I'd lose the unload, but I'm a 1 man operation. I can only have 1 flash at the moment due to electric and don't see hiring anyone this year yet. The Volt can have an 8/7 where the 7th printhead lifts up, but they don't have any in stock and I don't want to wait for it to be manufactured.
What would you find of more value, printhead or an unload station?

Get as many print heads as you can get, load/unload station works just fine in our shop

Go with the extra print head, that's what we did for our first auto. We removed the 7th print head 3 years ago a little while after getting a 12 color press.
Makes sense especially since you are a 1 man operation.

With only one person using the press, wouldn't the load and unload stations be the same anyway? Is that likely to change?

If I'm not mistaken, I think you can make head 2 a dummy head. So it will hold a flash but not be an actual print head.
If so, I'd make head 7 an actual print station being that you're a one man shop. Down the line if you add a person and need that for an unload station you can swap that print head to head two.

So I was going to get an 8/6 but switched to an 8/7. Unfortunately it has to be manufactured and will be 4 to 5 weeks versus me picking up up in the next week or so. I was bummed but then they sales rep called me back and informed me it's an 8/7 heads up, where the 7th print head can lift up and be turned into an unload station. Needless to say I'm pretty happy as that's what I originally wanted.

Just googled, seems like a real nice option!
