I printed a job for a customer Pantone matching some vinyl numbers, once they pressed the numbers on the back of the jerseys the color somewhat shifted. Their customer (this is contract) is compaining that the color on the front that was screen printed now doesn't match the number on the back. We can cad cut the vinyl but I am curious if we tried to press it over the front of the print if it would adhere to plastisol inks. Has anyone ever tried this.

Yes it will

Should stick okay.....But how will the client feel about the thickness once you are done?....Might be digging a bigger hole than you are already in....

might be good to know what colors you are working with - just like you had a color shift on the vinyl on the back number
(presume no underbase) - --you may have a different color issue with what now would be underbased vinyl on the front...

we have never done that but the thought come to mind that the vinyl temp is pretty damn close to the ink melt temp and the ink under may ooze out make sure you trape it enough to prevent ink migration.
Just a thought ...no real experience
