Title: which ink should I use?

I will be printing 2 colors, black and red. I have some low bleed red on the shelf. Will I be fine with that or should I order in some poly red?

Post by: mk162 on November 21, 2011, 10:13:49 AM: low bleed red should be fine, just watch your temps and I would recommend a test that you can wash and let sit until tomorrow.

Graphite shouldn't be a huge bleeding color.

Post by: Sbrem on November 21, 2011, 11:49:44 AM: If you have the low bleed red, use it, but test first of course. I don't think you'll have any trouble with the black, we've printed regular black on a few thousand of those without incident.

Post by: Fluid on November 21, 2011, 03:28:26 PM: Depending on how dark the graphite T is the only Issue I really see is it darkening your red just like any colored shirt would without the use of a white underbase. As mentioned, test, test, test before running the entire order. Getting that extra shirt isn't that big of a cost and you can always use that shirt for other test prints or give to your client as an extra over run.

or a Poly White - unfortunately the cost for Poly white is a lot higher yet the outcome is well worth it.

Post by: ebscreen on November 21, 2011, 04:01:55 PM: Here, poly and low bleed are the same. If our regular cotton white (which works on some blends) is not
suitable for the job, then the poly is what is used. No middle ground with potential bleeders.

Post by: RICK STEFANICK on November 21, 2011, 07:31:17 PM: graphite in that style are not bad bleeders.. you will be ok with a standard low bleed underbase under the red and a standard black.
