I found this at $9.00 a roll ea but a case of 18 gets it down to $8.50 ea

By the way, I'm glad you asked because I think I'll buy the same from them

Just get 3M scotch from Costco...

8 giant rolls are 14$ and it leaves no residue.

Here's a compromise if you're dead set on PMI Split Tape

1)
Longer scoop coater as mentioned by Zak
2)
2 Inch PMI at $5.75 (36 roll purchase at 195.00 + 11.99 shipping) at Amazon -

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00NFQLVI6/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all&qid=1508983449&sr=1-1-fkmr0 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00NFQLVI6/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all&qid=1508983449&sr=1-1-fkmr0)

Although for 199.80 + 11.99 you get the seller with 100% rating

Just ordered the PMI 4" rolls from the link I posted above and I received it in like 4 days.  I ordered the case of 18 and it was $8.50 ea.  I expected the shipping to be higher to compensate for the lower price but it was reasonable.  On the site they have it listed at $5.00 a roll for a case of 24 which in total is lower priced then the case of 18.  That may be a mistake and they may or may not honor it.  It's not rebranded either.

love PMI quick rip (2/3 sticky clear, 1/3 less adhesive blue)
$7.95 per 3" roll when purchased by the case (Tech Support our of Pittsburgh).
Every new batch of screens we get now is 3 sided permanent block-out at this point tho - it's a solid cash expense that needs to get smaller, but lesser tapes haven't been worth the price break here.

3" $7 a roll per case of 24 , 4" $9 per roll per case of 18.  Free shipping

I always see post about guys using Dollar store masking tape or packing tape.  That stuff is garbage, split tape works great, last a long time and is less headaches

I've used tens, maybe even a hundred thousand yards of different packing tapes for screens.
Assuming you buy from a reputable seller and test it for fitness, you are rather unlikely to have 'headaches'.

Besides, it's all garbage in the end.
Tape ROI, anyone?  ;)
