When printing white ink on poly shirts do you under base with poly ink and use a standard white for the top or poly for both?
I have always done poly on both but I have to get 3000 prints done today or tomorrow and I am wondering if I can save a few bucks on the ink.
Thanks,

Depends on the shirt and the inks.
Most augusta sportswear shirts...HELL no. Almost anything else will work fine.
What brand are the shirts?

They are pc380 form san mar in neon blue.

That should be fine. I would still test it though.

Thanks. I think I will play it safe on these and run a few test or scraps.

You should be fine with a poly white base but I wouldn't run straight up cotton white for the 2nd white.

Thanks,
we tend to do poly base lb top white. some garments are crazy, we just printed on top of a camo dye sub type print on poly, we used barrier grey base and poly white top, you could still see some very light migration through both, though nowhere as bad as I have seen before.

You should be fine with those shirts, Sanmar's poly's are the best. We can even run plain cotton whites on them without issue, but still opt for a poly white base for stretch and durability.

I would have said the same thing except they aren't posicharge. I've printed these but honestly I can't remember how they did, which probably means they were fine.
Also, for a top white you'll use so little ink, you could just view it as an insurance policy. Or buy some cheap poly and thin it down with some low cure reducer.
We did their camo-hex shirts a few times and those HAVE to get a barrier base under the white. They are awful to print.
