Sometimes I should keep my mouth shut around my wife!
I started out by making shirts for my own band. Once the bars and other bands found out I did my own shirts they wanted me to make theirs. That led me to needing a name for my little side business. My wife was sitting beside me whilst I was brainstorming names and when Inky Dinky came out of my piehole she instantly suggested I go with it. Two hours, and numerous names later she rejected everything else I offered and insisted that I only had one name that fit......and so it was that Inky Dinky Screenprinting came to be.
That was 2008 and here we are today. I still use the same 4 color press (no branding on it) with no micros (adjustments by hammer), I still use the same 6 bulb homemade exposure unit which, I am able to get 60 dpi on a 300 tpi screen. ( I have a 20 lb weight holding a foam-backed board down on the screen (my vacuume blanket).....and it takes 7 minutes for exposure on yellow mesh....but it works) I did jump to a AWT conveyor dryer and, thanks to my father-in-law (who has a real shop in Florida); I have a Brown automatic flash.
My most recent equipment upgrades were a pressure washer and homemade washout booth. Oh, and again thanks to my father-in-law I have a dip tank.
I use Coreldraw and ghostscript.
I am now committed to growing my business so that I can have the nicer things in life......like a 6 or 8 color press with carousel so I don't have to wait for the flash! And perhaps real separation software.
I have found a lot of useful information on the forums, but do find that what works for some does not necessairly work for all. I would like to visit and/or work for a week in a real shop in order to get an idea for what the possibilities are.

Hey Inky. Welcome. I admire your self confidence, as it's not everyone who advertises that "dinky" is a good fitting name for a guy. Lousy place to get inky though.

Hey Inky.. where are you located?

LOL......Frog, Dinky is a reference to the size of the business.......no ink on the willy either. Would hate to have to use the spot remover down there!
I am in sunny Three Rivers, Michigan!! That is just south of Kalamazoo, and just north of the Indiana border, right between Chicago and Detroit.

Welcome Inky, I can't tell you what I pictured when I saw the thread title, or how many jokes jumped into my head. ;D Feel free to ask questions; there are usually more than one answer, but if it works, it's good.
