Customer wants this printed using discharge. Garments are Bella+Canvas 3001 - Red. 36pc order so if we have to send it around twice, that's OK.
We don't do much discharge so feel free to go into detail. Thanks in advance.

i don't handle art seps at our shop at all, but the 3001 reds discharge great. I'm not sure why you'd have to send it around the press twice though?
-
Don't know how many color press you have, but I would just do a discharge under base (pure discharge base, or 80 percent base / 20 percent premix white), and then do all the top colors as water base with no discharge.
Discharge Base
Flash
Light Grey (under all the tank)
Flash
Mid Grey
Dark Grey
Flash
Black
White
Still all water base, but more forgiving than trying to do all discharge colors and fighting color shifts when discharging, will get a super sharp, bright, soft print, and even though 3001 Red's discharge ok, your white will be brighter than going just discharge white for the text.
Will have more hand than traditional discharge, but better overall quality, registration will be a breeze while doing overprints.
Post pics of your result.

I agree with Eric, and don't think sending it around twice would be a thing.
We would print it -
Gray
Black
White

that's pretty simple.
would that be discharge gray and then WB the B/W or discharge everything (or, or)?

Sorry! We print discharge by default here so we only specify if we are not talking about discharge! But I guess no one here would have a way to know that. Anyway, we would print a DC gray, WB black and a DC white.

It would be the same here too.

If printing were easy, and didn't cost so much to do, this would be a fun one to all print the same artwork, on the same tees, and see how each place interprets the same art, and what results in the best looking print (subjective).
I would be using double the amount of screens, but I don't like mixing halftones and spot colors.

So you don't flash the d/c grey? Just curious to why that is? To help the colors blend?

So In looking closer at the artwork, I think I may have mis spoke earlier. I feel more comfortable wit one of the two flowing ways-
1) This would be a kind of trial and error on this one, but we do a hell of a lot of that.
1- Black
Flash
2- Gray
Flash
3- White
In this configuration I would print a lighter gray, and underbase part of the gray with black to get the darker gray solid colors like on the handle/knob in the middle and on the top of the tank.
2) 4 colors/screens
1- Dk. Gray
2- Lt. Gray
Flash
3- WB Black
Flash
4- White
