Has anyone used the Frames that Sefar manufactors? The ones that Newmans Patent ran out and they picked it up as far as durability, retentioning, quality, etc.?

Why not just get the real deal? No frame out there better than Newman.

I have two of the 1.4 23x31 frames. One is ok but the other one stripped a thread before reaching specified torque setting.

I've got 8. 2 23x26 and 6 18x24.
They're okay, but heavier, and a few of the bolts bottomed out into the tube end castings, necessitating the need for a washer or two under the bolt head, which in turn raised it up making slipping a socket over the adjacent bolt a bit more difficult.
For the negligible difference in price, I prefer the Newmans. I've bought a dozen of their newer MZX frames, and the only thing you have to bear in mind when meshing up is the corner castings are made deliberately out of square so the tubes bow out slightly when snugging down the bolts, raising the tension a few nm above what your meter was reading. This was done to compensate for the newer tubes being thinner and lighter. They don't use the rubber or plastic seals under the bolts anymore that were meant to keep water out, either.
All things considered, my favorites are the older blue anodized frames.

Been using them for a couple years (1.4 23X31) no problems. Tensions run 32-45Ncm. I have never tried Newmans, so really can not compair and the price is only about $10-$12 less than New Newmans.

I've heard the new ones are much better. But I have no idea.
