Title: Resurfacing platens using a stretching table

Specifically M&R platens/Action self adhesive rubber/Newman table. Often its hard to get proper weight distribution to the corners if one uses a 5 gal pail to press the new rubber. If one has all of the aforementioned you may want to try this:
Facing the op side of the table, lay the rubber down adhesive side up. Place the pallet on top so that the channel faces you horizontally. Lock in a bare frame (tightened) and attach the wrenches. 40 lbs PSI ought to do it. For extra measure you can now do the 5 gal pail on the center. Bob is now you're Uncle ;)
 Might work with different platens/tables

I didn't realize how much I liked Uncle Bob!

How long do you leave it for?  And how well does the Action/3M adhesive hold up to high platen heat?  Edge curling/rubber shrinkage?

i'm nearing the point (or past it and haven't gotten to it yet) of replacing rubber on my pallets.  i have a stretch table but I'm not picturing what is described in your suggestion.  Can you toss up a pic?
Also, is the Action Engineering pre done pallet rubber the way to go?  I know they are pricier but my time is money and I want something to work and it be stupid simple to complete the task.

The preglued rubber from action is super easy to use.  I used that last time around and it worked flawlessly.

Yeah..I can see it. What a great idea as the corners never stick right. Use the pressure of the frame on the edges.

We're actually going to start resurfacing all our pallets in the next couple weeks.

Your platen needs to be at least 22 long for a standard 23" wide screen.

You do not place the platen in the same direction as the screen.

So do not put the long side of platen in the same direction as long side of the screen.  Nothing will ever touch on a normal 16x22 platen and a 23x31 screen.

Turn the platen 90 degrees so its kinda like a plus sign.
