Matte Printing Instructions (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_IFbHr_100#ws)

That is pretty cool. It had a nice look to it. I'll maybe try that some time.
-
I am definitely going to use that! way cool...
-
A friend of mine makes one of pens by hand out of all kinds of woods. His customers always ask if he can put a logo or name on them and this looks like a good way of doing it. Better than a pad printer for one name or logo.
-
WOW that is totally cool. My mind is racing with possibilities... I have a ton of BW art that would be great for this.
Thanks for that!
-
I do similar techniques using my intaglio press often incorporating serigragh techniques on cotton rag paper and plexiglass plates.
-
Sweet find! I'll use that for my next sign!
Where do I buy that glue stuff?

Liquitex matte medium is available at art supply stores.

very, very cool! Thanx for sharing.

I bet platten tack would work.
-
I don't think so... Matte medium isn't really an adhesive, but an acrylic paint extender. I looks like it has properties that transfer the toner pigment directly onto the wood. It's also water soluble, so it gets peeled up with the paper as a gooey goop.
-
I think its only water soluble when wet. Once its dry it is done. I went to a supplier just now and they wanted $23 for 16oz. I went to Michael's and got some imitation mod podge for $6 per 16oz. I'm testing right meow...

cool app idea... skateboards!

Nice......good find :D

THis is cool but why would "we" do it that way. Buy a big screen, coat it with emultion, expose it with the sun if you have to wash it out and print as many as you want. It is what we do, right?

True but a good idea if you want to avoid the fumes and looks like way less mess and set up. I think it would be great for no so flat surfaces like a skateboard deck.

Gotta say, Shawn, that's a good idea. Should work with color laser prints, too.

Toner is same as laser. Color copier. Get 'em at Kinkos or any offset printshop. Cost next to nothing to try. The color copiers output offset press quality.
