Post by: InkSeps on June 21, 2018, 12:26:39 AM
We are on a mission to bring the best and the dead on. What you see now is nothing compared to what is coming. Please read our articles for the best results. Very little is done according to industry standards here all new technology and a color model for the first time in the screen printing industry. Coming updates will be mind bending mark my words.

Wouldn't be surprised as this is TSSWFKAAA (the separation software writer formerly know as Advanced Artist) who has always leaned in the direction of Corel.

It's an online thing. It works well, I tried a few images on it.

I don't mean to judge other printers, but I'm shocked at how well that shipwrecked job printed with how bad the squeegees look.  It may be time to upgrade them.

i played around with it a little this morning and seemed to work very well.   not a big fan of switching inks so would look at gettiing there ink match to our brand.  but the seps are done online and very fast.

SimpleSeps, right?

SimpleSeps, right?

Does Simple Seps require a proprietary ink system like this one does?
Also, isn't that a program that lives on your computer, while this one is strictly online.

It's like simple seps raster I guess...but online.

You don't have to use their inks, I have close enough matches here, except for maybe one or two colors.  I would imagine it does help though.

I was thinking about ordering the set, and then I forgot about the program.

It'd definitely them, there is a tone to their pitch. But it's a great idea I think, to have it all matched up. We might check it out later after we're out of the weeds.

This is Advanced Artist and a product of his.

SimpleSeps works with any ink system. I’ve got it and that’s what I use. I’m on a Mac and use VMware to run windows for Corel and Wilcom.

If you are going to use Inkseps (which I haven’t yet) it does it for you then you need to rip it (LPI, angles, traps, etc) via SimpleSeps - what you have to pay for. I don’t know if you can download the seps and use another rip program to finish it out though.

I like it apart from the part where I have to use Corel Draw and Simple Seps to rip the files. Are there actually still many Corel Draw users out there? Are those guys at Inkseps trying to limit their customer base on purpose by not offering this for Adobe users?

There is no need to use Corel draw with this web based program. You drop the file in it it spits it back out then you bring it into the program that you want and print it out the way that you want.

But  for your question  are people still using CorelDRAW absolutely. I use it every single day. Much more that I use illustrator or adobe Photoshop.

Thanks for clarifying this. And by no means did I mean to make it sound like CorelDraw is some fringe program, as a matter of fact I looked into it before. But where we are all I get is art for and created within Adobe Illy and unless I can bring in .ai files into CorelDraw and be able to edit them 100% I would not consider buying CorelDraw.

I'm pretty sure if you have your AI people output a 'PDF' file that would work in Corel.

I just checked their website, you will have to buy the Adobe Photoshop Importer. More info can be found here

You mind sharing what those "close enough matches are"? Pantone colors?

I use Corel daily also and 99.9% of all the files I get are created in Illy.
I import a .pdf which my art department provides (they are at a different
location) and haven't had a problem yet (except when they forget to convert
fonts to lines).

I'm the same, I didn't like CD when they ported it to Mac many years ago, as I was just too used to Freehand and Illustrator. I very, very rarely see a CD file, I'll bet it's been a couple of years now. That seems a little odd to me, as it certainly produces a good product...

The Standard Sim Process colors are in the general ballpark of:

Lt Blue: 311c
Dk Blue: 286c/293c
Green: 361c/375c
Purple/Magenta: 213c/rhodamine/239c
Yellow: 102/107/109c
Red: 186/032/warm red/

Its about being in the general color space and fine tuning from there.

The inks they sell may be more translucent than normal pantone mixes as well.
