This is now my second time trying Print Partners AKA The Dream Junction.
All I can say is for having some of the most amazing videos of their DTG's running, this is now the 2nd time they have made my job look utterly atrocious.
Attached is the shirt I got, vs. the art that I sent.
And trust me, I understand that DTG isnt perfect in color replication, but seeing the stuff Graphic Disorder has done, and what some others have done, I feel this should have been a little better.
Correct me if Im wrong...

Great day in the morning that's a mess, nothing like the art at all, if they are known for good work this ain't it. :o
-
And this is my second shot with them. I can not believe how bad it is. I mean if there was a problem on my end, I get it, and I would hope they would contact me about it, but the art I sent was stellar, and followed every step on their site to make it look as best as possible.

You should send the file to m&r and have them test it on the x link....... I bet it would match the artwork LOL
-
Hmmm, it looks like it could use some more blue... damn, that's bad. Are they really charging for that?

My exact thoughts. And yes, charging $8.75 for Gildan, and $9.75 for bella/canvas.

Id love to send this art to someone who could reproduce this better than these guys.
If 244 is willing, id love to give them a try, but I know Im not in the market for DTG, just need some shirts done here and there.

Holy Moses!
How many shirts would this be for? You can screen that much better and less hassle.
Here is a contract DTG Co. I've used before. I've used their services a few times in the past.

This was only for 2 shirts as a sample. Im looking for a good contract DTG printer that I can trust quality with. It was a plus these guys are in California, and were able to print 17" tall, but I guess that doesnt matter when the print is absolute trash.

I am positive we can do that art justice, but we are $10 per print. I?d gladly give this a shot just to see how close we can get. Can you send me the art?

Pierre you should just print them and post images of both on your website...A nice You versus Them (no names) comparison will showcase the "great" work you do....

That is super bad. Like how is that OK to send out?

Never heard of an "OvalJet", but even in the video the prints look washed out...

I was thinking the same.
The concept is neat, but obviously they focused on the front and not the end,
which seems to be the norm these days.

I wonder if on You Tube, there were enough other unhappy campers to prompt this Comments are disabled for this video.

Good Call! Its possible.

Great artwork. That print is a joke right?
Nobody could think that looks correct, even not seeing the original art, that looks worng.

Looks like an "I dont give a F" operator behind an automated machine on grave yard.

The crazy thing was: I spoke with these guys at ISS this year. They had a pretty nice booth, and a very nicely laid out plan for linking your shopify website to their backend, and them handling fulfillment.
Its just crazy that in the 2 orders I had with them, both have looked like this.
-
It may be an exercise in futility since we don't print for companies, but I'd be willing to print and post the result if interested. I know Dream Junction used to use Kornit but with the OvalJet they created, it was supposed to be top of the line, but after seeing this, looks like they need quite a bit of work...

Or, as mentioned as a possibility, more attention from the actual operator.
Last I heard, this is still not an automatic exercise, and color profiles and tweaking are still part of the operation and can make the difference between "ew" "meh" and "wow"!
-
True but with the colors being that far off, the operator can only do so much.

...like look at what's coming out perhaps?

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying. On a QC level, absolutely, but if it's color profiles and a fault of the system, that's what I was talking about. Regardless of operator, on a QC level, this should have never left the facility.

...Or through quality control and packaging? There's a whole lot of "not giving a ----" going on here. seems to be the new normal.

Then, and not a bad idea, all stages of their system would need to have an available display of the original artwork for comparison.

Looking at the image, there appears to be a couple issues I see:
1. There are no fades into black, just hard edges. Chances are this is software.
2. The colors are off, but when I say off, I mean like they shouldn't be there. For example, the blue flame I would argue should have almost no yellow in it whereas on the print, it's heavy in yellow. So this tells me either the ICC is extremely off, which is hard to imagine, or the RIP has an incorrect ink configuration. So maybe the actual order of ink is YMCK but the order in the RIP is KCMY or something to that nature
But again, what happened with the print is 2nd in nature to the real QC issue of a customer receiving this as is.

I can't believe how difficult it is to get a photo of this image. The camera wants to adjust the blue to include more red and I'm getting glare. I think the blue in real life is a little less red and more on the cyan side. That being said, a design like this would look much better if you were to adjust the midtones. I printed this on a DTG M2.

Jerid, I am thinking that the extra care and ensuing time that you and others here may spend showing that better is possible on this goes completely against the standard practice of the business model of this company.
That said, I would still think that an email with an attached image illustrating of what they would do should have been forthcoming.
Question for other DTG'ers, especially those who do it for the trade "how much tweaking and correction is included in your standard pricing?
