We are running a link screen (pallet tape, spray tac, squeegee with clear base at low pressure, etc). It "works", but only for about 250 to 300 shirts, less on anything extra linty. This means we have to re-spray, then refresh glue so the fresh spray doesnt pull the shirts off the pallets, etc. We are able to run 2000 shirts without refreshing the pallet tack if we dont refresh the lint tac, but with the downside of the lint of course. Kind of close to a wash when it comes to efficiency. moot on darks since we have to refresh the glue anyway.
I know I have seen people reference a shop vac type of attachment for the ROQ presses and making a DIY version as well. I cant think of a way to keep it quiet enough DIY without running like 50 foot hoses all over the shop. Any similar ideas?
In another recent thread I saw people are running a clear base on whites to help with build up (if I am understanding that thread correctly), and I was wondering if anyone is running a clear base (flashed or not) as a means of basically grabbing or trapping lint ahead of the colors. Seems like it would at a minimum grab a bunch of the little pinhole like pieces of fuzz that are especially noticeable on white shirts with dark inks. We need to do anything we can right now to maximize press efficiency...

I assume you're running an ROQ since it was mentioned in your post, but here's what we do for M&R presses.
We take 1 or 2 of the air tubes that run to the squeegee or floodbar locking clamps, tape them to the bar & turn on the locking switches. This shoots air out of the tube & does a pretty good job of blasting out lint. We'll do this with as many open heads as needed depending on the quantity of shirts or how linty we know the garments are.

Kirkwad, I’ve thought of doing this, how much noise does it make?

It's not overwhelmingly loud, but it is air shooting out of tubes so it's going to produce some noise. You can still talk & hear with them going.
If it's a large imprint area, we'll turn the head on & have it "print" so it's shooting down the whole board instead of one stationary spot.

Haha, you need to patent this one. Add some weight to the back of it. Is this the next Action Engineering product of the year?
I like it, we will have to try this sometime.

The roller screens that action sells seem to work better with the tack method than regular screens. I think because of whatever that material is they use

We bought a washable extra wide lint roller and mounted it on an old floodbar. Works great. We use presswash to clean it off every couple hundred, and it’s sticky again.
