Don't you guys know Dave is coming to work for us. He is so impressed with our work he decided to intern for free for one whole year here.
Also I have a bridge to sell if anyone is interested?
-
Is it a suspension bridge? I've been looking at one of those.
-
Yes its similar to that ugly stone one that connects Manhattan to Brooklyn. Taking offers
Also transportation is up to the buyer

I would be interested if it is in Florida! Preferably in the Everglades area.

the government has one for sale, i think it is called Hopenchange ,...... it goes from 1600 Pennsylvania avenue right into the crapper, oh yes it is a toll bridge, except the real fancy expensive cars do not have to pay the toll.

When threads turn political, they get moved to the opt-in politics section, of which you are not yet a member.
Try to keep on topic here, because your contribution begs a response, and, then there it goes.

ok -I'm an idiot..I hear this joke about "a bridge" all the time - explain it please. . .I don't get it. . .

Essentially, convincing a country hick, visiting a big city for the first time, that one owns and can sell him something as grand as the Brooklyn Bridge, or something similar.
Now used as a reference for gullibility.
Also used is buying unseen land in Florida (which is likely under water in the swamp.)
-
I was familiar with the land in florida thing. That actually goes on all the time online. People buy unusable land off ebay and other places.
I didn't know the origins of the bridge one. I know what it refers too, just not where it came from.
Yay political thread!!! just kidding.
-
The Brooklyn bridge was an actual scam perpetrated by someone a long time ago. Not sure of the details but it is what spawned the "I have a bridge I can sell you"
Here is the story.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_C._Parker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_C._Parker)

So, I say Dave "the man" came to my shop and then the thread turns into talking about bridges? :o

so wait, you are telling me that if a pig bought a bridge it could not see up to inspect the underside of it?
-
I think you guys are missing the point here. . the point is bridges are like women. . .. . . .yeah, I got nothin, gotta bail on that one. . .
Rock on Dave. . .

I wish I could have found a way to get up there and visit with Dave in person. If we wouldn't have been dealing with dryer issues then I probably could have gotten out of here for the day but it didn't happen. There are some really good people in our industry, Dave is one of them without a doubt. He spent an hour with me on the phone and it only felt like 5 minutes.
