Title: Humidity in screen drying room

Can the humidity be too low in a screen drying room?
I bought a new unit and it's at about 25 humidity.

It can be. You can start seeing issues like spider webbing/cracking in your emulsion. Also if you have a CTS unit in your dark room, it can start to dry heads out.

As per Easiway's and (formerly) M&R's Alex Mammoser "Typically all screens like 30-40% RH to dry in/at. This is truly ideal for most CTS machines as well."

Or go wax...can't dry out.

We keep ours at about 40%.  We do run an AC in the summer to help dry it out and keep it a touch cooler

We are doing our best to keep our screen room at least at 60% but it's not an easy task. lot's of humidity at the moment even with a dehumidifier on 24/7

We recommend 35-50% humidity for emulsion.  And as mentioned, when it is too dry, emulsion can crack during production.  In some cases in cold very dry conditions of less than 20% it helps to have a childrens humidifier in the room.  A hygrometer that reads temp and humidity is an inexpensive tool to put on the wall to dial in the screen room.

On Mr. Buffington's advice in the winter here(MN cold and dry) we turn off our humidifier and fill up a old emulsion bucket of water and set it in the screen room. It has 100% eliminated the cracks/breakdown we had a few years ago...
