Title: Fogger/humidifier for water base
Post by: Cole on April 04, 2019, 06:58:29 PM
Alright, I need some help. I have been searching the internet like crazy looking for the right humidifier for a fogging system. I see shops using them on press with those blue hoses that have the orange tip. I know M&R just released one too. If anyone on here is using a fogger/humidifying system and routing hoses to their print heads, PLEASE share what humidifier you are using. I can't seem to find one that I'd be able to hook flexible hose to.

could you use one of those mister systems like on a restaurant patio, but with more pressure, lower gpm, and a finer tip to create a finer mist?

Build your own, or get an aquarium fogger.

I definitely want to build my own. The trouble I'm having is finding a humidifier that will allow me to attach hoses to it. I looking to the reptile fogger machines, but they only have one fogging output. I know there are some shops that use multiple reptile foggers on press, but I'd like to have one big fogger that I can route to multiple heads. Any suggestions on which aquarium fogger I should buy?

Don’t stone me if I’m wrong, but, pretty sure this is the unit M&R uses

http://www.mainlandmart.com/humidify.html

And the hose is called loc-line coolant hose. You can find it on Amazon.

Oh yea, the loc-line website has a ton of different parts you can use to build a system that fits your machine perfectly including valves to shut off lines to heads that aren’t printing

I’m still building my unit and the only thing I haven’t figured out yet is the manifold to route the main hose into the hoses for the individual print heads. M&R may have developed something specific for their unit but if you google search “loc-line manifold” you will get some results. I did find this which may work if you just simply cap one end:

Too much water.

What you want is an Ultrasonic Humidifier.   Google “Industrial Ultrasonic Humidifier”

Thanks! This is super helpful. I'm probably going to try and find a cheaper humidifier, but that loc-line link is perfect for when I need to find the attachments. The weather is really warming up here in California, so I'm trying to prepare myself for spring. I don't normally do super long runs, so water base hasn't been a huge issue for me, but I'd love to have a fogger set up just in case. Mostly for HSA.

We did this, it is a great IDEA, but it kind of ends at IDEA. In the long run it ends up being a PAIN and gets messy/watery. Also makes the floor a bit slippery.

Regular humidifiers work great. One of our machines has a blue bear one I took from my kids room. We also large floor ones that can pump out much more. Winter months up here without these gets very problematic.

Every time I walk into our warehouse I always think it could use more humidity in the air.  Nothing beats swamp nuts and monkey butt starting in May.
