Title: Film Output Choice
Post by: rmonks on April 24, 2019, 08:48:37 PM
OK I may be one of the last people using an Epson Stylus color 3000... what a great printer. Wish Epson would make them again. Well so much for wishful thinking, What is on the market today that can print 14 wide and has black only option and bulk ink. Anything? If not what are you using, that prints film 14wide that is economical.

A lot of people use those Epson 1430's but I heard rumors they are getting phased out and into some other model to replace it.  I used one at one job. They did the trick.

I still have a 3000 in production and the 1430 use both everyday to keep them working right.

This is crazy but if you can find a couple lightly used R1900'S Those work excellent also and I think they are faster than the 1430.

@Rick as long as you have been in the biz you know and I know you can walk in any shop and find out DAM! you guys are still using that and doing this?  why because some people are slow with change and if it ain't broke leave it alone.  I walked in a shop many years ago and I was like dang, but what came out there door was WOW!!

The 3000 was a fantastic printer.  I loved ours.  So much that I had 2 of them, one of them was for job tickets and a backup for the main film printer.  I miss those things and all of the 1995 beige plastic that it was covered in..

I have a R1900 that was barely used, but it might need some head cleaning, if anyone wants to offer me something for it, ill more than likely let it go cheap.

Still have a 3000 that get used daily. Got lucky and found 2 a few years ago on ebay. One hadn't been used and it's still going strong. I prob have about 4 or 5 that could use new heads kicking around. Not even sure if parts are still available.
