Hi Folks,
I don't like the idea of using a Spray Tack. I imagine it getting all over the floor and anything else that it settles on. Are there any alternatives to using the stuff?
Thanks
Bart

water based adhesive or double sided pallet tape.

even with the weak search feature here, a search for spray tack, or waterbased adhesive should yield some existing threads on this.
You'll also probably find, that we all still struggle with fleece.

Thanks for the search tip.
What do you mean by fleece, the fabric?
Thanks

Yep, sweats. While waterbased adhesive can last for dozens and dozens of impressions on T's before it needs to be delinted and rejuvenated, fleece is only good for one, maybe two hits.
Many still rely on the funky sprays for fleece. For that I recommend using a simple cardboard mask to minimize overspray mess.

You will find some alternatives here to start out with, including a delivery option. There are several alternatives and brands on the market and different ways to apply the liquid tack to your platens.

Yes, search the forum! But spreadable waterbased tack is the way to go. Spray tack is evil. Necessary for fleece, but evil.

Frog.... yes you are correct... search bar on this forum is weak.

We switched over to the water based spreadable and we are impressed with it. We use Textac, watered down-25/75 and spread with a card. The best part by far is no glue in the nose.

We started using one of these to apply the liquid tack instead or cards. circular motions and it seems to be a quicker cleaner way FOR US. This is just a SUGGESTION and in now way insinuating others way is not better, If you do it different that is great. I am not trying to convert any experts out there but for a long time we carded it on until TP suggested this.

For a reason that I don't know, there are two spots to click for searches.
The one on the menu seems to work better than the little window in the upper right.

I tried a bunch of stuff and now we use a grout float.

I made the mistake to start my shop with an adhesive spray gun. Worst mistake ever. Tack and lint build up on the floor and walls. My shoes would get stuck standing next to my press. I had to hire a professional to clean my concrete floors. It's faster than manually applying adhesive, but not worth it. Stick to waterbase adhesive. Pour some into a condiment container for easy application don't forget to mix some water into it if not it will be hella sticky.

Unmodified texts in a 32oz squirt bottle, squirt a quick spiral about 10" across and wipe with an inside out test shirt that's been used up. Fast and no mess.
