By now, most of you probably know that the job of weeding vinyl from adhesive backing can be eased by heating. Probably have seen the cool heated light tables from Stahls. Siser EZ Weed really benefits from this.
Well, for a few years I used a hair dryer, but have changed to a somewhat more elegant solution (that also prepares a number of sheets at a time)
I use a standard heating pad under a cutting mat. I thought of a sheet of glass, but since the heating pad is not perfectly flat, I figured that could be risky. Heck, probably anyting thin and a little rigid would do the trick. Chipboard?
I put a few cut sheets under the pad to heat, then grab one, slap it on the mat to weed, while the others remain in the warmth of the "staging area".
