We have a job we do annually for a bluegrass festival, and they have a preference for discharge. This year they are asking for Gildan's Dark Heather G5000, which according to Gildan's Discharge Chart, get an "A" for dischargeability, even though they are 50/50; of course, we will test. They also are asking for some crewneck sweatshirts, and the closest I can find is Hanes Ultimate Cotton Charcoal Heather, a good shade and a half darker, which is a 65 cotton/35 poly blend. Have any of you heavy discharge users have a fairly dark heather crewneck sweatshirt that discharges well that you might recommend? Thanks in advance.

I think your going to have a issue with the crew neck sweats and may want to consider hsa for both to keep consistantcy. I had extensive discharge test results on a lot of heather's etc but my external hard drive crashed and I lost it all . From memory I think the results were not "A" level on the dark heather 5000. Eric or Brandon may have accurate info on those.

I also feel this is correct. Certain ink colors will be more favorable than others, but i'd caution you to be safe, or at the very least buy a shirt and test it!

Well, this is pretty much what I thought, that the "heathers" will be tricky. I can't find a sweatshirt in a heather that isn't at least 65 cotton/35 poly. Now we have used the Hanes Ultimate Cotton for discharging, but they were Navy and Black, and worked beautifully. Yes, we will at least test the G5000 Dark Heather. As for HSA, we don't use it, and I don't want to use this particular customer for a guinea pig while we learn it. From the little reading I've done, printing 3 whites will make the staff's heads explode, lol. Thanks for confirming, and have a great one.

Dark Heather in the G5000 you are fine with.
Gunmetal Heather or Charcoal Heather from Independent will also work fine for fleece...

Second this. SS3000 works well in charcoal heather. Not an exact color match but discharge results should be pretty dang close
Edit: discharged some Indy charcoal heather today and these were the results. Forget what the pantones were but they were accurate.
