I have a customer looking for a banner that the football players can run through before a game. Can I use normal vinyl and velcro the halves together or is that normally done with a lighter/disposable material?

Ones I see listed on online sign shops are 13oz. vinyl with, as you describe, a velcro seam in the middle.
Pictures I see of some youth events appear to use paper.
