I've been looking at this for some time now and it looks pretty neat, any of you ever try Hydro dipping, I see where Ikonics has some film you can use in your inkjet printer and do hydrodipping with. Don't know if this is something that we might could add to our business or not, I might buy a few sheets and see how it works, right now trying to find shirts is kicking our butts :(, maybe we need find something else until they get stock might on track.

The cost is 99% time and labor.....need to air dry so space is needed. I know a few people who have done this but walked away because they couldn't charge what the market would bear. That said.......if someone could automate the process then they might be on to something. Speaking only for me, I would be in the $10.00 decorating fee. This has previously termed as marbelizing.

Indeed; as with tie dye (albeit quite a bit less controllable), each shirt is unique and many retailers and other customers balk at this. Still a viable technique for some boutique customers, assuming you have them. Combined with a suitable waterbased print there are endless possibilities.
When I introduced a very different set of spray/watermark/discharge dye etc techniques to a few companies that I ran it was always the same. Can we reproduce efficiently? And later, "Although this is remarkable, it is not viable and even if it was, the price point is too high".
Fast forward to now when I can do whatever makes sense for me.
Its all about oil in water......
