Title: M&R Red Chili D help
Post by: TL on May 06, 2026, 09:10:04 AM
We recently added another Red Chili D to our shop and we are stumped as to why it does not work as well as our older model Chili D.  We bought this used but it is in great condition and I had an electrician check it out to make sure everything was working well as far as power supply, etc.  The main issue is that if there is a full front print that has a decent coverage of ink it will leave lines that seem to be in between the bulbs and where the temperature sensor is that is not dried.  Also the temperature that we have to turn it up to is WAY higher than our older model to even get the ink to come close to drying.  Any help with this would be great, thanks.

what do you have for voltage in your shop - and what is the voltage on the bulbs?

we had an issue with our cayenne - our shop voltage was 208 and the bulbs were 230v.  a simple change of the bulbs to a 208v version and the cayenne worked better.

also is your flash at the same height as your other one?

are your settings the same on both flashes?
