Title: This is interesting, a 2 color auto?
Post by: Screened Gear on January 27, 2012, 05:29:06 PM
I heard a few weeks back about this and I just now saw this article.  It’s a MHM two color, one flash station, 4 pallet auto. It has a 9.5' footprint. Kind of cool?

That is cool but at a hefty price tag im sure, but like it says 1-2 color wet on wet jobs while your main auto is running the big color orders.

It has a flash station. So you could do a PFP white or  any color print with white underbase. Why they didn't just make it a 3 color that you could use the 2nd station as a flash if you want.

That can't be right. It is based on the S-type so it would be a little expensive but 40K. You can get a 6 color E-type for a little over 40K. and its foot print is just over 11 feet? The savings of space is not worth that many less heads? Am I wrong?

Yeah, doesn't anatol make one like that?  40K is unreal, it should be less than half that...and the size should be smaller.  9.5 is still huge, unless it has a large print size

Anatol does make one like that though dont know the price but if I had to guess since a 5/6 Titan is 15K I bet the 2 color would be about 10K

An Anatol Titan 2 color 4 station goes for $14,515.00 plus freight, crate, etc...

I have a video of a 2 color 6 station Horizon (Servo/AC) here...

I would use it. Would be a good machine for easy small additional prints.

My only issue is foot print is the same as one with more heads right?  I know each color cost but if you are going to take up the real estate then might as well maximize it's effectiveness.

What does the Horizon or Titan 4 color cost anyway (does it come in a 5/6?)

Big or small footprint.. how much is your 8 color losing by running a 1 color all day. This might not fit on most floors, but a shop that does large qty of bags or other single hits all day will benefit greatly.

If the size is right, and the price is too, these machines would be a great addition for shops that print a lot of 1-2 color work.  I could use the crap out of a machine like this.  I've got more jobs that are simple as can be that would work great on a press like this.  Free up the bigger press for the multi-color/flash jobs and run the smaller press on the 2 color prints all day long.

Glad someone gets all the easy stuff.  We get a few one-two color jobs a week, the rest are 3-7 color on darks.

Oh, I get plenty of those too, but I run a bunch of p/f/p stuff that would be awesome on that press.  I don't have enough to warrant a $14K investment though.

Hey, stick with what I am good at. ;)
