Title: i wish the apparel suppliers..
Post by: whitewater on January 31, 2012, 10:37:27 AM
When you go to an online catalog there are 2 choices...look at the apparel with no prices and no stock..just the description...and the other choice is to sign in and then you see the stock and prices...

When i have a customer here and they want to see different types of shirts and colors and what not we go online, its easier then thumbing through a catalog..well i do not want the customer to see the price of anything..but it would be handy to see the stock, then i can say right then " oh there are no smalls, lets see what else is similar that we can use"...i dont want to sign in and out, that just looks weird....

does anyone think this would be a possibility?

Sanmar will show the starting price but no stick info until you sign in. That does suck, perhaps a call or two to your rep might bring a solution. I'm calling mine today...;)

Holy crap you guys have been living under a rock.  Almost every company has an end-user safe site.

Sanmar:
companycasuals.com

Bodek:
brandbookonline.com

sam listed NES's version, but they have one for alpha and broder as well.

But he'd also like to see stock!

No use in getting a customer excited about a style if their color and size isn't even available.

On the other hand, stock and warehouse location isn't really end user information.

So, the desirable "i wish" compromise, is another section that shows stock without pricing.

HAHA! I know about that company casuals stuff...i'm looking for what frog said. It may show its in stock, but if my customer needs 50 smalls and there are only 10 in stock well now I have to call them back...takes time ..i want to to know right then and there while they are here and get it finalized..

We call several of the wholesalers and get some generic catalogs sent to us (without pricing) - you can give that to the customer, have them make their selection and say well let me check stock on my computer.  You don't need 2 computers to do that.  Its none of the customers business how much stock you have anyway (unless stock is completely gone and it affects them).  I just got about 20 generic catalogs sent to me free of charge about a month ago, some to show customers and some to mail to some of my good accounts.
