That is a steal on that press.

I had one very nice press for a back clamp.

But it is unbelievable how heavy they are.

I am trying to figure out how to justify getting this

What are you using now?

I bought one just like that and then sold it because of space.

I sold it for $1500 and that was a good deal for the press.

Mine was in perfect shape with low mileage on it.

That is a SMOKING deal!  That's not a legend though is it?  Might just be newer/cleaner than mine.

If it's a legend then it's work at LEAST 2k... I'd buy and sell it if I was local.

BTW, I bought my 6/4 Legend for $1500 with the Antec Auto flash with Air!  And mine had been underwater during Katrina (though he didn't disclose that to me, I found out on my own, but it was still a steal!)

Yes it is a legend, that press made Antec.

Wow that is an awesome deal. I wonder how old that thing is. I'd probably take the 8 hour drive each way if it was in decent condition. What do you think the footprint is on it?

With HELP! ;)

We put 2x4's under it and move it like it's an egyptian thrown and that is still tough for 2 people to move around!

It's about 8 foot.

I have been waiting on a return text from him.  I am hoping to see some better pics.  I was looking for another 6/4 or 4/4 now that I have a dryer large enough to run two presses at once.

Two people can pick it up when arms and screen heads are taken off.
One head look busted, it should not be that high up.

Yeah, with heads off it would lighter... but I'd suggest just taking the whole top piece off if you are going to do that... only like 6 or 8 bolts.

But leaving the heads on two people CAN do it but it's a beast!

He sent me some larger pics.  Does not appear to be a legend in the pics as there are no micros.  I will pass on it at this point.  If it was a legend I would have picked it up today.

That seams to be a model before Legend or a Tracer. Only one registration gate (like tracer) and looks like there is no micro adjustments on the heads.
If someone is interested, contact Dave Peterson from Antec, he should be able to tell you more about the press.

Damn.... looks like a tracer but for 550 bucks a few extra prints heads around the shop wouldnt be so bad.

Right away the first thing that turns me off is there isnt a strut bar for anti platten arm deflection but the arms looks very short , the shorter the arms the less deflection. If you ever come across a press with long platten arms and no trut bars, RUN!

Absolutely untrue on an Antec.

Gilligan, our machines are OK because of the shorter arms, we have 6/4. I believe that any bigger machine has that feature.

Touche`  But I'm a stickler for deflection, that is one reason I was unimpressed with the riley hopkins when I saw some ryonet videos... they look so solid but ugh, deflection.  I know ours are SOLID.

Yeah my better half won't let me pull the trigger on it either...  I'm waiting on an 8 color press.

As far as strut bars it's a damn good measuring stick when your looking at a press. I learned this lesson the hard way when I bought a POS that looked solid but was not! Thing had spagetti arms, the wind could deflect the arms lol. I cant even remember what it was anymore...

I wasnt a huge fan on the micros either but they far are not any better than the workhorse ones. I would like to someday not even have to touch a micro. Hoping that dude from Bulls Eye builds a jigg for a manual soon lol.

I also saw this printer on craigslist. Definitely NOT an Antec Legend as stated previously. No micros but looks very similar to the Antec Tracer. This model must have preceded the Tracer.

The Tracer Micros were the hot set-up add-on for our non micro Hopkins presses twenty years ago.
