Title: Non screen printing tip - weeding vinyl
Post by: Frog on March 14, 2012, 02:55:30 PM
To help clean my weeding tool of the tiny bits it can collect when doing detail work, I use a loop of tape.

And yes, that is a homemade weeder made from a cheap pick tool and the housing of a highlighter pen.  ;D

Yep, as a habit, I used to just use some of the carrier sheet away from the image, but this gets the crap away and isolates it from the actual usable pieces.

Only really a problem with this tiny stuff.

I just finished weeding 125 names, whew! I use an Xacto #11 blade, and scotch tape as well.

Couldn't live without my weeder. I use a piece of backing tape. Another trick is to heat up the vinyl a bit before weeding, it makes it come away easier.
