Title: Shop visit?
Post by: bimmridder on March 22, 2012, 06:41:36 PM
I'm taking a little R&R in the Charleston, SC area. Anyone have a shop they'd like to show off?

Darn it! Grew up there. Been living in Seattle for the past 12/13 years. Let me know if you want any info about the place or surrounding area. Tons of islands/beaches. Lots of relaxation. Have a good time!

My hands down favorite place to live. I was just off Sullivans Island in Mt Pleasant. Used to be a huge Op there called Silkworm but it's gone now. Try Kevin at Image Network, now part of the Odle group. Wait till you see that screen department.

I'd like to do that Alan. Maybe in the middle of summer when both the temp and humidity are about 115?  Y'all know my door is always open, and the beer is always cold.

Hopefully this summer the heat won't be that bad inside the shop.  The new dryer doesn't put off any radiant heat like the old one did.  The old dryer was insulated but not very well.  You couldn't touch the body of the dryer or it would burn your hand.  I bet we get at least a 10 degree difference in the temp inside this year over last.  I can wait to find out though, our summer will likely be brutal, we had literally zero winter here this year, the worst I've ever seen.  It got below freezing once or twice.  I didn't have to crank our heater up at the house but maybe 10 nights.

I really need to come up there.  I need to make the tour at M&R, then go to your place, then stop by that other shop in Iowa that M&R has helped out recently.
