So at the bottom of my street is an old Daffy Dan's, in Ohio he was the screen printer of the 70's and 80's in the Cleveland area, his slogan if you dont have DD on the sleeve its just underwear. I always thought the guy was a pretty cool dude even before I started printing. Once when I was very young he gave me a free shirt I was like 8 so that was way cool. He was at one Time the man in Cleveland, he printed all the radio, concert, sports teams, big business, you name it. So he has the really small unusually shaped building at the bottom of my street, a small A frame, its been for rent for 5-8 years and just sitting there empty. He placed a for rent sign up again a months ago, I have called repeatedly with no response. The place only has like 200 sq feet it would be a retail spot only. SOOOO I see him out there today and start talking to him, what a nice guy, he offered up some advice and really seemed to be a good dude very nice and seem interested in what I had to say. So I ask him what he wants for rent, he tells me he wont rent to another screen printer because he does not want them gaining business by using his well known location. OK I can see that I guess but wouldn't you think, if he felt the location, because it was a Daffy Dan's would generate business or interest just because its now open again, wouldn't you think he would just reopen it?? He still prints and the building must be paid for by now so the cost would be minimal I would think. I just found it weird that he would not be open if he felt that way. Let me say again he was very nice to talk to and seemed like a good guy. I just don't get it.

I could understand it if he was still printing and just relocated. PEOPLE ARE CRAZY MAN..

Sweets, I've seen that sign and building. I've been in several times at Pierre's place and we've came in town for some things and past that Daffy Dans place. You ever meet Pierre in person? Nice guy, and would give ya the shirt off his back. Wait he did and we printed on it. LOL. I like that area and his building. I really love that other building (the huge one) across from it that they turned into different business offices. Very "posh" now but was some old factory like a cotton mill er something. That towns got some history.
I guess he wants Daffy Dans to always stay an original "Daffy Dans". Sort of Nostalgic and probably wants to preserve a legacy.

Pierre is the man I have been over at his place several times he has given me a ton of help.
There are some pretty interesting buildings around here, if you go up the street from him there is a school bus yard, that was a nike site I was told the tracks and silos are still underground. Next time your in town give me a call, we can shoot over to the brewery.

I guess, that works for him. If it does not, I do not know how they can charge as much as they do.
24 2 color prints on white shirts, I was quoted around $14-15 last year. (I was price comparing)
And $20 or $25 per screen charge, I do not remember exactly

Woe that's pricey
