We just found a used mini sprint dryer and I'm pretty excited about moving from infrared to gas. It's the smallest one with an 8 foot chamber, but at least I can cure discharge even if I have to really slow the belt. We are upgrading from an M&R fusion with a 6 foot chamber. I was hoping someone with the same dryer could tell me what kind of difference it will make as far as energy efficiency goes and what kind of curing rate they get out of theirs with plastisol or discharge. The Mini Sprint with 8' of heat can be expanded to 10' easily. The burner and blower are already sized to do so. You will get pretty good results from the unit compared to the Fusion. Expect about 40 percent more doing water base than the Fusiom. Running cost will be 1/3 of the Fusion.

ShirtShack: Congratulations on the dryer upgrade. You post mentioned that you were picking up the Mini-Sprint used and I thought that I’d chime in with a reminder that having the dryer disassembled is an excellent time to do some complete maintenance to make sure that all areas of the dryer are clean from lint and other build-up and that blower motor shafts are properly lubricated.

Thanks for the tip. The one I've found is from a retailer that has been refurbished, but I will be sure and break out the grease gun before we assemble and hit the power button.

refurbished? must be CGS. tony and crew are one of the only companys that really do refurbish screen print equipment..

You hit on the nail head. It's GSG. I was talking to Joe Garcia about ordering ink and just mentioned that one day, I'd like to get a gas dryer and he told me that they had just received one and he'd work me up a deal. Later that afternoon lo and behold, we made a deal. It was perfect because we have limited space and it will fit perfect.
