I've had customers who wanted crazy designs printed on shirts, but this has to top them all. They bring a outline of a fairy and want their relatives face imposed over the original. I tried to talk them out of it, but they insisted.
-
HAHA! thats awesome! creepy looking but an awesome print.
-
I've got one, I'll get a pic of it up here when I can.
-
My photoshop skills suck though.

Yep, everyone knows that Jesus would have never shaved his chest! :o
-
good point. and besides, he looks too child like. If I am going to have a savior, he's going to look like a man. I mean, Jesus did have great abs. He certainly has most other deities beat in that instance.
I am kidding of course as I am christian, I just wouldn't have a problem with printing these...it's humor.
-
Jesus was white?
-
@ Inkman, yep LOL
Darryl
-
I have always imagined him as a darker skinned white guy. Similar to my wife's complexion...her family has a lot of Jewish heritage...and frankly, Jesus was Jewish. It would make sense since he was from the middle east.
But Santa Clause, that guy was definitely white....and historically an elf.
-
More like this for sure
-
I like it, part savior, part hijacker..all awesome!
-
That's actually the picture that I came up with for Patty K years ago from a project trying to reconstruct the probable historic Jesus as opposed to the co-opted Caucasian Jan Michael Vincent version so commonly displayed in western art.
-
I don't care what color he was but how could he be Caucasian from that area?
-
Everyone knows is color tone is Malotto. A little mixture of everything.

Wow this thread just got deep. I feel it stands to reason that if God is all things to all men and Jesus is his son, Jesus would conceivable look different to everyone who looks at him. Kind of like real good marketing he would then appeal To a larger group, btw I love the gun toting Jesus I might need to use that.

I love you guys..lol

I think Roger hit it on the head. Since God is omnipotent Jesus would be and look like everything all at once and be ever changing. Thats crazy if you think about it.
-
Ok now, What do the screen printing gods look like....

Not to get too into the religious angle, but if you think about it too much, your head will hurt. That's why it's called "faith"

Faith Hill is hot. . . ..mmm faaaith

It's an old song, and chances are he was singing about a dude.

When Limp Bizkit covered Metallicas "Sanitarium" at the icon event! It rocked, everyone must admit that.
-
going out on a limb here -but 3 dollar bill ya'll. . .in my top ten favorite albums of all time. . I'll admit it, Fred was the man back in the day.
-
totally agree about 3 dollar bill, but after that it went to SH!t real quick. EXCEPT, for the Sanitarium cover. Here it is, you be the judge.

Ugh, you guys are making me sick.
We used to have a lot of fun mocking ol Fred when we did their covers... there was nothing about Fred that any of us liked... the band was OK but Fred ruined it.
YYEEEEAAAAHHHH!
-
sorry gilly-loved it. LB rocked it out and I totally agree, they should have called it quits after that album. go out on a high note. . .same with Korn, first 2 are albums = epic, then Follow the Leader was ok, then it went to poop.

I'm a huge music critic and I can honestly say that 99% of popular music that has come out in past 10-15 years is utter garbage! I look to local and underground bands for my music fix, it's honest, pure and raw! Great popular music ended in the mid 90's.
I'm already getting old and grumpy lol!
-
Seven Dust will be calling it quits in four years.
-
The cover isn't bad if you cut out all the blabbering in the middle, although they would have impressed me more with the title track. That was THE Metallica song. Lethal might have actually done something interesting with those time stops...
And I'd agree that Nookie is a great song--especially when Richard does it. "Like a chump, Hey!"

Don't shoot the messenger Homie.
I know these guys... very cool guys. But Morgan can't take it any more. He walks around like he's a cripple. He has given himself whiplash 100's (if not thousands) of times by now.
My good friend is the FOH engineer and tour manager.
It wasn't a cheap shot, I think they are a great bunch of guys (Lajon is a bit self centered, but hey, that's rockstardom). You guys want people to go out when they are on top so don't cry when they plan to do just that.
-
Nookie, you honestly think THAT is a good song? An 8 year old can write better lyrics. Let me see if I can stoop to that level.
"Oh come on you guys have to admit that Do-do-do-da-da-da from The Police was an epic song."
Yup, did it.

oh man, I need to go back to bed and start this day over. . .
Gilly, you can have some cool points back for knowing Morgan and crew. . .so 2 more albums then done? ain't right man. . just ain't right. .
-
Sorry Homer, better to know then to not know right?
"top" is relative.
You don't want them putting out weak albums do you? Like Tool.... I'd rather them call it quits than put out some of the garbage they have put out since Aenima.

Did you check out the posted link? Yeah, I think that's a great song as performed. Although I should point out, I also love his versions of "Closer", "Yellow", and "Milkshake", all songs I'd be unlikely to listen to the originals of. :)
-
One question... do you think Johnny Cash was thinking about covering/remaking "Nookie"? I didn't think so.
-
Nope, but I actually thought of "Hurt" as a great song when he played it--not so much when Trent did. That was kinda my point. ::)

I watched that video (Johnny Cash - Hurt) when I was in a bad situation and weeped like a school girl. That's a tough song.

I get it... but a band that is covering a song as a joke vs a serious musician covering the song because he respects the song is COMPLETELY different.
Mr. Bungle covered a LOT of songs... I doubt the respected many of them.

But your first statement is exactly what I'm getting at--I love Richard Cheese for making songs that I would not likely listen to listenable.
I don't think of Mr. Bungle as too comparable, recording the insane and technical studio albums they did. Although they did some 'interesting' covers of songs I otherwise wouldn't listen to, I think of the interpretation standing on it's own--I can't think of any way of properly quantifying the amount of respect a band has for an artist they're covering anyway. Phish did lots of off the cuff covers in a similar manner--would you say they are not respecting the music they were covering?
I guess I always thought of Mr. Bungle as being great just because it was so difficult to tell when they were serious--if ever.
-
I haven't listened to Richard Cheese so I'm making ASSumptions here... but I'm going off the fact that you stated "Milkshake" made me assume it was likely done tongue in cheek. A lot like Mr. Bungle doing a Britney Spears song or name many other incredibly terrible songs they covered in what one would mostly assume is a joke (as was the nature of the band).
Johnny Cash on the other hand did songs that he respected. I'd also suggest that Cash had more to lose by making a "fool of himself". So if he covered it, it's likely a song that has some merit.
Not sure where the disconnect is happening, but it is probably due to my ignorance in Richard Cheese.
-
I feel it is appropriate at this point for this:

Most of the Cash covers that he did right before his death were FORCED on him by Rick Rubin, he didnt even know those songs.
-
I was wondering about that myself--the Depeche Mode cover strikes me as something he wouldn't listen to--although it would have been cool if he had.
My point with "Hurt" was that IMO, it was not that great of a song performed by Trent--I just didn't think of it as a very credible song coming from him. When Cash did it, he grounded it in the reality and gravitas it needed to be a much better song.
I'd guess the disconnect is just in opinion--I enjoy lots of music that 'serious' music critics would not. (coincidentally, nice link, Brad! Had "In 3-D" on tape nearly thirty years ago. :) )

That Depeche Mode cover he did, inspired me to learn it on guitar. I play it all the time.
