Photoshop now not opening files by double clicking. In order to open a psd file, I need to go to OPEN and find the file.
Double clicking with mouse or pen does not work. Ever experience this?

Restart your computer :)

Haha. Thanks. Restart is not always the answer but on occasions it is.
I've also noticed that on occasional re-starts, Photoshop does not "keep" my preferences even though I have it set up to. Just does that randomly. It always goes back to the main default. I think it's the trouble you get when running these elite programs on a PC. LOL.

A lot of times an easier and much quicker solution to windows acting bad is to go to your task manager kill the explorer.exe then restart it in the same task manager. This in a way reboots windows not completely but some of the services.

Mine does same thing. Have to open photoshop, then file- open.

Perhaps the .PSD file extension is no longer associated with Photoshop. Although it's easy to tell if this happened--Do the photoshop files show up in explorer with the little blue PS logo?
-
Yes. I have the .psd extensions on all. I haven't had the problem today tho (that I recall).

There's a setting in Windows that tells it what program to open because of that extension--Usually if it works, it works...
If they are associated sometimes, and not at other times, that sounds like an odd problem.
