I'm sure like many of you, i find myself standing on my feet usually at least 8 hour a day.
What is your shoe of choice when it comes to this? i need to get a new pair, and it seems like i'm going through these running or training shoes every 6 months!

The most comfortable shoes I have tried were these http://www.finishline.com/store/catalog/product.jsp?productId=prod690774 (http://www.finishline.com/store/catalog/product.jsp?productId=prod690774)
I do not know how they would hold up when standing for 8 hours.
I print from home, and I wear my Crocs all the time when printing. They are cheesy and ugly, but I thing that my feet like them. I try not to wear them when meeting customer :)

I wear New balance 410, plus a sales guy came by the other day and we bought 2 new mats from him pretty dang thick too.

My father-in-law is completely sold on Sketcher's "Step-Up" or whatever these things are.
I finally found some in the clearance isle at Academy (you guys know I'm a cheapskate)... I put them on and they were odd but I bought them.
The heel feels kind of foamy/spongy... I can't say I noticed an insane difference like my father-in-law does but they seem to be a bit more comfortable when on your feet more. Basically it's almost like standing on a fatigue mat all day, then throw down some fatigue mats in selected areas and that should help.

sketchers urban track or the city walk. these are al have worn in the last 10 + years. last about 9-12 months.

Doc Martens
i have a pair that is from 1995ish... a friend backed into my car and instead of paying me the 100 bucks for the headlight mount that he broke, he gave me his 2 week old Doc Marten 10 hole steel toes.

floor matting makes a HUGE deal. global industrial is a good place to get it. the ribbed mats last much longer than the pebble mats...

I think we got ours from Zorotools. Not the friendliest bunch but good prices and free shipping at some point.

Adidas Sambas believe it or not.
I'm pretty flat footed, and arch support seems like an odd thing.
my dogs are never tired.

Hmm, I liked my Samba's back in the day... I'm extremely flat footed as well. I might need to get me more sambas.

I picked up stall mats from tractor supply 45 Buck for a 4x6 mat 3/4 inch thick helps a bunch and cheaper than anti fatigue mat of same size should last forever

Believe it or I am most comfortable in my Irish settler leather boots. They are a bit pricy but last a long time

I like Chacos best so far. It's like having a boot sole with nothing but straps up top. I tried those Keen ones with the toe cap but it's like wearing shoes with no socks and feels gross. I just learned not to jam my toes into things instead.
I also rock those Saucony Jazz but they fall apart pretty quick and I have to buy a pair twice a year or run around with my toes sticking out.
-
Out of about eight pairs of shoes I have in the rotation, four are Keens!
Of those, three are shoe, not their formerly unique sandal style.
Then I also have a couple more Keens in boxes waiting in the wings when needed.
They are one of the few brands which I can count on being wide enough for my fat toes across the board in all styles.

5 Fingers. These are the shoes that have a space for each toe. They feel like wearing gloves. I am wearing mine all day now. Great shoes. You will find them at an outdoor sports store. Adidas makes a pair as well.

I've tried most of the major running shoes, Nike, Reebok, Asics, NB, Addidas, Brooks, etc. over the last 6 years and the most comfortable for being on concrete all day are the Nike Airmax. The Reebok zigtechs are a second in comfort. I know none of you will go out and pay 130-150 for a pair or believe me, but I'm a big guy that spends 6-12 hours a day on my feet and I need the most comfortable shoe available or I'm miserable, and since wearing the airmax over the last 2 years, no foot pain at all.

Do they have em in wide widths?
-
I think they do come in at least one "wide" option, but not like good boots do.
If any of you insist on wearing boots to work then I've tested them out over the years at my other occupations, and the winner is Red Wing Shoes by a mile. They come with different inserts and they have a style for just about anybody. I know comfortable when it comes to my feet.

I have the 2249 steel toe and The 4296 with aluminum toe and the heat moldable insoles that I move from one boot to the other.

Keens or Merrells, hands down, no contest for me. They last, and I can be on my feet, on cement floor, all day, every day with no problem. And that's after busting my left leg in 4 spots, right leg in one spot and pelvis in two spots.
......Good shoes aren't just a nice thing for me, they are a necessity.

I have dealt with a ton of knee/hip/back problems the last decade or so (I play competitive volleyball, and its ALMOST as hard on you as screenprinting). So, over the years I have become a bit of a guru in the field of athletic footwear.
Of course, there is no magic bullet, it depends on your body type, foot motion tendencies, and what you do during the day as you wear them.
For those of us that spend a lot of time running a press on a concrete floor (Not much walking, mostly repetitive shuffling) you need a well-cushioned shoe that offers max stability. These are called motion-control shoes, and expect to pay $100-150, anything less probably isnt worth the money. My favorites for this are the Brooks Beast (for bigger folks) and the Mizuno Wave Creation. I have actually found the latter to be a great all-around, all-day shoe.
I also recommend the Asics Nimbus (very cushioned, not especially stable) and the Asics GT series (an even mix of cushion/support)
If you do a lot of walking around, I am partial to the Nike free series. They take some getting used to at first, but they offer a natural foot-motion and gait.
Sonny mentioned the Vibram FiveFingers, I have two pair. They feel cool, but have ZERO cushion, so not recommended for concrete floors, especially for anyone over 35 that is losing the natural padding in their feet. That said, I found them to be PERFECT for grass and sand activities, I use them exclusively now for outdoor volleyball tournaments.
Hope this helps!!

Keen's PTC Oxford utility shoes rule. Tough, simple and they have slip resistant soles. (perfect for standing at a washout sink all day!)
You can find them at work clothing stores, most other Keen dealers don't carry them.
http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/product/fw12/shoes/men/service/ptc%20oxford/black (http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/product/fw12/shoes/men/service/ptc%20oxford/black)
I have narrow feet, especially my heels and for some odd reason these fit perfect. They have a wide toe box, which usually means my foot would be swimming in them, but they fit just right. My buddy wears Keens too, and he has very wide feet and they are still perfect. Keen somehow has this width/volume thing dialed.

Cadillac floor mats from uline. Got them in the load and unload stations at the auto's. Shoes -- echo walking shoes

Screw you sonny, you have to rub in the fact that I can't wear those.
I know a lot of people that wear those...they are really big at the chiropractic school over here.

Two pairs of socks. One thin pair (baseball sanitary style) one pair cotton crew socks.

Oh Yeah!!!!!! Just because you can swim faster Mr Duffy does not mean that you are not jealous of the fact that I make everything I wear look good!!!

I have high arch feet after trying all kinds of shoes finally settled with the sandals
from BIRKENSTOCK, they have them for all kind of feet. narrow, wide, high arch, etc...
some would say that`s not a good idea to wear in the shop
so far no issues here :)

I took my $140 running shoes to work one day.. they never left.
reminds me, need a new pair as these now have some hole where my big toe is :P

I suffer serious arch support pain and I have tried every shoe known to man the last ten years. Most could not keep me out of pain for two hours, that includes sketchers or new balance. I have tried inserts and they actually made things worse. Now I have nothing but Nike running shoes and I go the whole day with out one ounce of pain. For the money its worth it, not sure whats so special about them but for my feet they are the bomb.
