In my Trident manual it shows a screen cap image of the flash cure options as:
SHUTTLE FLASH
RAPID WAVE FLASH
Q-RUNNER FLASH
On my physical machine on the same menu it reads:
IR FLASH
QUARTZ FLASH
Anyone have the same menu as me? Wondering if there's a software update or something mine missed as it's an older press 2003-2004 era.

Bad pic with my phone hope this helps.
MAIN SETUP MENU
MACHINE
PRINT HEAD
INDEXER
LIFT
SHUTTLE FLASH
RAPID WAVE FLASH
Q-RUNNERAIR FLASH

Thanks Parker. What year is your machine?
-
07' STRATUS.

Didn't Anatol have to stop making/using shuttle flashes due to a patent infringement? Maybe they removed reference of it from their menu's too.
The description in this ebay ad seems to support that:

True, but I'm not sure they removed the code from the machines, rather removed the flashes from the market. My Trident has 4 (quartz) flash control ports on it but I only have the ability to assign parameters to one I think, unless I'm mistaken.
My software is probably old, as the physical hardware suggests things that the software can't do lol

I thought it was because the flashes were junk. I have read about a ton of problems with the shuttles.
Maybe workhorse shut them down and that was just their way of "saving face" though not really the best method, if you ask me.
-
Workhorse sued them for patent infringement and won. I believe Anatol still can produce them but cant sell them on US soil.
-
I don't know about the shuttles but the Q-Runner I know they had to stop making atlease over here, because it was very close to the Javlin flash unit...matter of fact they still make the shuttles I had the option of that or the Rapid wave and I got the Wave.

Sorry, I meant Q-runner.

hey I wouldn't mine having a Q-runner it saves a head I think Shannarchy on the forum here has an old one, has to be a first when they could still sell them, might ask him about his.

I only know what I know because I too like the idea of one and looked into it a bit.

Q-Runner will slow production WAYYYYY down.
-
From anatol:
Lost patent suit. Stopped making for us mkt.
I asked when we bought a Titan.

Not more than trying to print a 6 color job with only 5 colors. ;)

Here's a pic of my control panel:

You can get a Q-runner on ebay right now if you want one. I don't want one lol, maybe I didn't make that clear. I'm more wondering if there's a firmware update for my machine. When I turn it on it says VER. 1.06SVX. In the Trident user manual PDF they sent me it has a screen cap of the startup screen and theirs says VER. 1.20.
Does anyone have options under the PREHEAT menu item?
I have 4 flash control port plugs but the menus only allow me to set up 2 quartz flashes. I have a shuttle flash I use right now for a midway around flash when printing a lot of colors.
I guess I could call Anatol but crap I'd probably get quicker and more accurate answers here unless I catch a knowledgeable tech on the phone that has been around since my machine was built??
Anyone have any cool tips they use regularly on your press? F1 on my head panels puts the machine in 1/2 index mode for cleaning screen lint or checking prints
During winter months I sometimes tweak the index distance and home offset to account for the colder shop to make the machine index and lift smoother.

I'll take a gander at my set up screen. I have a Stratus around 04-05 model. I have the rapid wave and love the chit out of it. When we are rollin' I get the flash times down to .8 sec on a 230 unerbase.

You tellum brutha, I love my rapid wave too wish I had another one, but dangggg those things are high as cats back.

I don't have a rapidwave quartz but I do have a quartz flash, it's a stainless steel beast made by Image Technology:

And an Intek IR panel that I mounted inside an old static frame with some drawer sliders to make it a "shuttle" flash. Once the pallets heat up it does a decent job of flashing but nothing close to .8 seconds!!

Very True, no more than trying to print 8 colors with only 7, or 12 with only 10. This year I've had to deal with this more and more, its just part of growing in this buisiness.
