Okay, watching the Mariners and seeing that they have a Carp. The Angels have a Trout, and there used to be a Salmon.
Anyone know of any other seafood represented on the diamond now or then? Inquiring amphibian minds sometimes want to know really silly things! :P
Go A's ;D

half a point. We don't usually refer to hunters as wildlife, or fishermen as seafood except when...
Jaws 1975 - Quint's death "Eat me alive" (Judas Priest track) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEll1mpoSvQ#)

Okay, I came up with another one, shared by at least two players. I'll leave it out there as the answers are getting a little tougher, though there are still a bunch.
Now, here's an important announcement. Apparently, this is not as left field (so to speak) as I may have thought as it is even covered online. That's right, a simple Google search can point you to a site with a list that even includes some names that I don't recognize as either fish or players! Old or obscure?
Honor system here. besides, not as much fun as tying to remember ones you know.

The orioles used to have a Bass but I do not know where he currently pitches.

I have an outfielder, Kevin and 1st base, Randy, (now an Oklahoma state senator).

According to MLB Brian bass Is pitching for the Astros, guess that means since they will be joining the American league next year I will see him again soon.

A kid came through here last year for our Minor League team (Single A ball) He got called up last year and is now with the Angels. Looks like possible Rookie of the Year. Mike Trout.
Have an order on my desk for a team if they make the playoffs, another Minor League team, the Jupiter Hammerheads. There is also the Carolina Mudcats.
And for you Andy, not a fish, but maybe a close friend? The Everett Aqua Sox (Tree frog)

I don't know how I could forget our largest account in Minor League Baseball this year, Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

Hes looking for player/pitchers with last names that are fishy.

I guess I really misunderstood hid original post. Forgive me!

LOL don't feel so bad I am a major baseball fan and the only one I could think of is an obscure pitcher (past) for the O's.
I always like the russian/hispanic names thanks to our wonderful southern neighbor Cuba. Can anyone say Vad?

In Dave's defense, though yes, I was thinking of players, team names could certainly qualify as seafood if indeed, they were seafood. Myself, I've never eaten Carp, but I know that others do. As for the major league team names, though I assume edible by someone (or something), Marlins and Rays are fishy, but not common as seafood much more than Tree Frogs, lol!
Mudcats and River Cats, on the other hand, have probably graced the frying pans of many folks. ;D

In that case my local doubleA Bridgeport Blue Fish.

so i get hald a point for catfish? i think i am being ripped off..LOL

The judges here at the man cave by the pond conferred, and decided that in this particular case, even if they allowed the nickname as his name (already questionable and far from unanimous from the panel), the last name itself, in this instance, completely changed the outcome.
Think "Oyster" If that were the only name, it would indeed be classified as seafood. However, "Oyster Shucker", would not. However if both "Oyster's" and "Catfish's" last name was more neutral like Smith or Jones, you would have been awarded a full point.
Be careful, there is already some grumbling here about taking your half point back! LOL!

Although I don't know that they are really Double A ball. A member of the Atlantic league though.
