that was 2 hours ago and now my computer does nothing past the splash screen....so pissed right now. I did a system restore in safe mode with no change just a black screen with my mouse pointer on one screen. Any help??? oh im still using my old computer, im so glad i didnt listen to my wife and get rid of it. At least i can do some work.

Strange.......... mine did not have any updates today that I saw. may be able to go to last good working date. I know this really stinks :{

I had to do this on my wife computer this morning, don't know what happen, but I just restored it to yesterday and alls fine.

Ok the os is ok I had a USB in and it was trying boot from that. List of problems from the sp1: no corel programs work, dual monitors are not working, system restore does not open,...

I had that happen recently on a 7 Ultimate 64 update, and there was nothing.... as in NO THING...!... I could do short of a fresh install.
It took hours....

The bummer is that today's updates were not critical, and not even important to many. Crazy that you couldn't restore to pre Patch Tuesday though.

finally got on the line with microsoft support and they got in remotely and fixed her right up. she said the update failed to install and if i would have let the computer rest in the off position for a while then it would have probably fixed on its own.
