Title: Ink revealed once shirt is wet (from sweat) ??
Post by: Get Shirts on September 25, 2012, 10:52:12 AM
Has anyone worked with this company?  http://www.viewsport.us (http://www.viewsport.us)

The image is printed clear (I guess) and is revealed once the person wearing the shirt starts to sweat.

I'm interested to know how they do this.  Is this an ink?

There were some inks oh about a 15 ys ago that were Hydrochromic (also Photochromic aka Photochromatic.) That reacted to water or light. They came from Japan and might have been Matsui.
I used to do allover belt printing with it for the Theme Park market.

The hyrdochromatic ink that Matsui makes prints WHITE and then goes clear when wet.  What the viewsport stuff does is print CLEAR/transparent and then shows up/blocks moisture when wet.

I'd almost think it's more of a permanent water repellent screen printed and mashed into the garment completely?
