Why do vendor not have pricing on equipment online, you fill out their form and send it in stating what info you want say for instance to Lawson for a quote on a dryer as an example and they respond with well pricing starts here call us for a quote, I thought I just filled out your stupid form for a quote WTF things like this will make me NOT purchase form them I just freeking hate it why do they waste my time?? If I had all day to call around to people I would not send meaningless forms in online! They should just put on their site we want to collect your info so we can email and call you with our bull$hit and oh if you want any info you can use to decide what you want to purchase call us at the same number that is on our site that you didnt want to call because our hours of operation dont jive with yours so please mset time aside in your day during our normal operating hours to call us for the quote you requested online, EEEERRRRRRR Am I grumpy today or does this bug the crap out of anyone else?

My guess is that they don't want to lose you over a 1st quote. Often times a person giving a quote has much room to negotiate and with such a large amount, to just say its x amount is not a complete answer.
It's x amount. Then they feel you out for your budget and needs. I think major equipment like that can be customized to the need at the time. It gives them an opportunity to say " how about this other option".

I totally understand that but if you are specific just quote me or remove the quote form from their site.

If you want a good dryer brand new at a decent price check out Ranar.com and get a quote for their curestar 4000 or 6000. No frills dryer but they just work..

hands down...M&R...24/7 tech support...who else can say that? yep noone....that is why they are the best...

That would be the only drawback of winson's dryer, but my understanding is all the parts are available from HVAC supply companies. Pretty cool.
-
Winston is always available unless he's in some third world country, which isn't very often I don't think. I'd like to see a few of Winston's finished dryers. I know that there probably isn't anyone out there that knows dryers as well as Winston.
On the subject though, I see why they don't list their pricing but I wish that most manufacturer's would. I can see how it would chase potential customers off that might not be looking at the big picture. I'm a huge fan of the M&R dryers, and I got an in depth tour of our Sprint International by Rich Hoffman and I can say he knows as much or more about them than anyone. I'm sure Rich knows all his products well but it seemed like he knew his dryers even more.

you know it is funny you mention Lawson...while doing my research on a DTS..I called them and they would not really even talk to me....told me it would be dumb for me to get one and I don't need one....well...I can tell you I will never put Lawson on my list ever again...
made my decision much easier to make when people don't want to give you service or pricing...
-
I was looking at Lawson's DTS and honestly it looks like one of the best units out there. I'll see what happens when I contact them and hopefully they'll act a little better towards me but if they don't, I'll be sure and let everyone know.
Sam, did they just look at your screen usage and think you didn't qualify?
-
Pretty much...asked me how many screens I did and was shut down from there....but I find it very ignorant to think that is the only savings....
Since I have had it I have found about 25 cost savings....and right now my ROI is at about 11 months...I would go into it, but I am not going to share that info...

I'm still crunching numbers, turning over every rock and I do believe you when you say there are a ton of hidden savings, I've found quite a few just going over the entire process. I just wish there were more units on production floors to see and get info about. I know there is 3 DTS's within 90 miles of me but that's it.
-
alan, Abuddy of mine has a couple screenmaker pro dts that are really nice. and about 10k cheaper. they shoot about 300 plus screens a day using 2 maybe 3 of them now

sam, lawson deals with alot of start ups. its possible they thought they were helping you out based on the numbers you gave them. after all how many shops doing 25 screens a day are buying DTS systems. I agree they are nice and offer some things that help streamline costs and production but with a small shop the numbers dont work for me either and we are producing 100-150 screens a week.. just sayin

That's right where we are in screen output. The screenmaker is the Acti unit right? Would you mind passing along his email so that I could chat with him at his convenience? I won't bother him if you think he's too busy or doesn't like to be bothered. PM me or email alan@srimonogramming.com

Rick
I bet you if you looked at the real numbers you would know they more than work....

Sam, I thought you said you were going to give us a breakdown on ROI... so now that is all "vaporware" talk?
-
Gilligan..you are part of the reason why I am not openly sharing my info...
you do not understand how to run a business...you are talking about what does 40-60/yrs make a difference...well it is part of the ROI...I am not going to share my info with people who are too ignorant to understand it....
so there you have it...you seem to know a lot more than me....so I am going to sit back and enjoy your tips and tricks...
-
No prob Bob... I'm glad I can dictate your actions that easily. You seem like a strong person to let me do that. Good job chief!

Samster,
While G does have a certain tenacity about himself, he's a good guy. I've watched his post for a while and have felt a disturbance in the force only a few times. Mostly yes, due to being green in some areas and his thoughts on "how it's done" or should be done. He does bring some good to the table and I find his personality intriguing. He shows his green side at times but don't we all in some areas.
Ya can't keep him at the far end of the pic nick table with him starring at you when your eating all the watermelon. lol.
Give the kid a dutch rub to the head and and let him back in your life. ;D
