From the outside looking in, nothing.

I think the stock is to be bought back at a future date. The shares aren't for the old forum which I guess has been sold, but for the online screenprinting accounting software (I guess that's what it is) that P is marketing. Or that's my understanding of it. I got a couple of emails indicating that I'd likely be contacted sometime next year with the proposition.

Hot Damn! I'm gonna use the proceeds from my "stock" sale to buy me sum of that there! I'm sure the val-yoo of my stock has soared . . .
Yous can still catch the "turnip truck" if you hurry . . .

All kidding aside, there are a few of us who bought those shares in good faith to support something that, shall we say, fell short of expectations. I ain't holding my breath, but I'll take back any of what I chipped in.

it's dead money -we knew that going into it.I didn't buy "Stock", I bought into P keeping the forum going -much like this place. one guy can't do it all. we won't see a thing for it, and I'm ok with that -never anticipated a dime anyway, I mean how much could it be worth? it's a forum / software or whatever the hell it became -flat out dead money. . . .

hmmmm, as I remember it you were investing in the forum and his other stuff.
I guess he could sell the forum and invest it in the other stuff.  But sounds fishing to me.
You should find out the sale price though.  As a stock holder I don't think he can hide that from you.
Plus, at the end of the year I'd ask for the financials on it all.

Jester you my friend are a grave digger

Darryl
? please explain?

If worrying about my friends who have helped me along the way getting screwed over for trying to help someone in the past makes me a grave digger.  Than yes I am.

I never bought stock, I bought a $25 t-shirt from him instead (which I never received).
Reason I never bought stock because I figured it would go South (not like this though).
I figured it would start fights between stock holder forum members on how it should be run ect.

I just think it is foolish you guys aren't told the sale price, not to mention that he sold it to the worst person in the business.  I guess it gets under my skin when nice people get taken advantage of.

Jester I think people here, moved here to not here about what happen over at SPOF or Digitsmith etc and you bring it up, which you have done on other forums, thats the term grave digger you just keep digging things up.  I think the matter of investments are between P and those that dealt with him and not be brought up by a noisy third party looking to start something (maybe your not and I,m wrong) and I will own you an apology.  I might even be over stepping here by thinking for the other forum members here, but do I think they are happy without the crap that was left behind.

Just let it die. Why keep kicking a dead horse? That forum is dead. If the fat FCKR does truly own it then it will whither away just like anything else that POS touches.

I know I should, but it pisses me off.

SPOF was never that special to start with.  It's not got the following this site has, DS, or TSMB.

He can spew all he wants about "phantom" forum traffic and change his sites settings for "time online" so his 4 actual posters think the place is jumping, when in fact its not.

The idea of a forum is posting, it barely has had any in a LONG time.  It's been all but dead for almost as long as this site has been around.  BOOM.

Don't even get me started!!!  I could go on and on about that fiasco.  I'm just glad I didn't "donate" any money to that place, or I'd really be pissed off about it.  I hope Jon Cryton didn't pay too much for that place.  I'm not sure why even even bought it.  He could have done the same thing with a new forum that he did with the garment equipment site, just harvest the info from other places onto a new site and done...

Honestly, I don't take any issue with someone venting frustration about it because everything that happened with TSMB we all went through it, got frustrated with it but we just don't say anything.  Then to see what happened with P. Like the big elephant in the room.  I understand it's done and over let the past in the past but I don't have an issue for a person saying the truth and just getting it off their chest once in a while.

We walk(and police) a fine line here.
From the get-go we offered an alternative to forums allowing themselves to being disrupted by(insert common farm utility building name) as well as the constant bashing of him, upon which he thrives.
As far as SPOF goes, though initially a shelter from the same guy as well, it eventually radically changed direction (and alliances) under the cover of free speech and no censorship (unless the censored posts were historic fact and/or valid warnings about dealing with a since-proven crook)

We still will not allow unchecked bashing of either of these entities, or really anyone, but the sale, and subsequent fair distribution of the proceeds are certainly forum-worthy topics up to a point.

Tom's revalation(for me, at least) about shares being for a software project and no one owning any part of the forum surprised the hell out of me because I thought that was exactly what he pushed at the time, though I must confess, I was already a little jaded and did not devote as full concentration as back when I thought that P and I had common interests, and a common foe.

Either way, kids, play nice! ;D
