I've been working and wanting a better dryer for about two years now. First time around the financing fell through (thanx Beacon Funding!) and this time around we got a good deal on a used one. Came in today, took about 2 hours to get it off the truck and few more to put it all together (we kept the press going for the most part while we maneuvered the pieces around). It is in place and we'll have the gas, electric plumbed in the next few days. Both are within 8-10 feet of the dryer.
8ft of heat, 60" belt. Bill Faust took good care of us on the purchase. Hopefully it fires right up and we are good to go. The seller had it in production until it was loaded on the truck so I don't expect any problems.
Thanx again Bill for taking good care of us on this purchase!

-
MD-8.

Congrats Pierre! Going to make your discharge runs a lot easier.
-
Congrats! Nice can get good production off that I bet.
-
Looks good. keep us posted on how it works for you. I will want one soon here.
-
Gas is the best! I'm still getting used to my precision. In fact, it's pretty smokey in here right now lol! Also takes a while to train your brain to use the whole belt!!
-
Great dryers until you have to change the blower belt.. hahah!
that little opening on the side.. you have to crawl in there 8)
-
Pierre,
I can't tell - I'm on my phone - is that carpet on the floor?
-
How's the heat with low ceilings?
Congrats BTW.
-
Great addition to your operation. Congrats!
Where is the exhaust on this dryer?
-
Love it

yup, carpet on the floor!
it is kind of messy under the press, but oh well . . .

air conditioned, so low ceilings are a plus. 'less air volume.

nice catch, not set up yet. exhaust will be on this side of the control panel. the electric, gas and air intake (so we are not using the air conditioned air for combustion) will be installed in next few days.
Landlord wanted the dryer in place before running everything.

Looks good!!! Nice clean looking shop, too.
-
Stays in the middle or goes though the wall like the old one?
Congrats, I'll have to stop by one of these days to check the new layout without the embroidery in the room.
I should be done with my living room project over the weekend and I should have more time from next week on.

The crate was a work of art, the truck line refused it skidded and strapped. Pierre was a joy to deal with, everything fell right into place.
I have 3 servo drive electric head presses for sale, a few nice ovens also three folder, bagger & drop conveyor lines.

Good move, Pierre. You should be very happy once it's up and running. Hopefully, there will be no problems...

Pierre,
What is that amazing looking press you have. I wish I had one just like it. In long beach they had a 8 color and I was surprised how much smaller the foot print was. Your center piece is way smaller then a 10 color.
Great looking shop.

That place looks like a dump :). Wish I had AC. So that's where the magic happens huh? I guess I could work in those conditions if I really had to. >Sarcastic smiley here<

Pierre,
Suggest you use a large diameter pipe for the gas feed especially if the pipe run is a significant distance from meter, these large gas burners do not like to be starved for fuel. Also make certain you have plenty of fresh make up air, you can suck that room dry of oxygen quickly especially in winter when all the doors are closed.

Congrats Pierre. have a gas dryer on my next-year list too!
Just saw this on Ebay and want it, not sure what I'd do with it, but it just looks cool!

Certain gaskets wouldn't give way if you were in a/c ;).

I am gonna gues it's next to an Anatol that just had all it's lines replaced recently! Also, another guess, that thing is at least $25k new if not more!

the interchange is a better unit, or so I've been told. The problem with these is Adelco is based in the UK, so support and parts are harder to get. The interchange is virtually made from off the shelf gas parts that you can get at industrial gas supply companies. Grainger will carry a few parts, but not all. The Adelco costs more and also has fewer people that know how to work on one.
-
Correct on both. Its a dual belt reciprocating dryer. I had service done by a local machine shop. UK no help.
-
Your gonna LOVE gas - it's the way to go. We don't discharge here in the desert but you have been here and have seen how cool it is to have gas.
-
With regards to the Adelco if you are thinking about buying proceed with caution.
