Title: Squeegee pressure and angle, bar on manual press???
Post by: starchild on November 28, 2012, 03:48:12 PM: Is that what I'm seeing in this video? So the ability to control the angle and pressure is done by that bar gadget and all you concern yourself with is print speed?
That's smart! The screen does not look like it's being cleared and the bar is bowing (which affects pressure) however. But that could be the shop operator's fault, besides the screen looks like a trampoline. But now it has me wondering about this application. Any of you know about this little gadget?

I'm thinking if it works like I suppose, then that's a big deal for manual press operators, particularly useful for doing 4 color process work, which is all these editors and trainers seem to be on about lately.

Post by: tonypep on November 29, 2012, 08:11:24 AM: I think Lawson made these but not sure. Tension, off contact etc must be dialed in and many had issues with uneven coverage but that could be contributed to many things. Most were discarded but looks like these guys got it pretty well figured out.

Post by: starchild on November 29, 2012, 11:00:06 AM: I can see unevenness being an issue being that the squeegee pressure is adjusted side to side independently without some kind of indicator. Front to back traverse could also cause problems due to the open end nature of the sliding bar, as you do the print stroke the bar dips exerting the most pressure at the end of the stroke.

These issues could be improved but I doubt it would- @ $350 per unit minus squeegee bracket most manual printers would rather pass on it. Another useful product not being able to live up to its expectation. (Priced to fail)
