This is my first year with a retail store and I am in a historical down town area. I've always been a last minute shopper and its always those large mega stores open last.

I plan on staying open till 10 pm Christmas eve. If its been dead up to 9:00, I'm headed home. I think we will make a party of it. Last year, I went down town to shop on Christmas Eve around 6pm and only one shop was open. I spent 150.00 there. No choices.

Our down town area is funky all year round. The retail shut down at 4:00 and are closed all day on Monday. "Monday". Sat is till noon or 12:00 for them and closed Sunday and Monday.

I've been working all hours behind a open retail front window display and get people coming in at all hours up till 9:00 or so from strollers. I know people are out so I get a lot of visibility with the lights on.

Closed the full week.  Shelly and I may work some on Thursday and Friday.  Employees are off from this Friday until probably the second.  We are generally slow that week so why drag them in.

Friday will be our last day until Jan 2nd.  That week is slow, not enough work to keep people busy

We will be closed from the 22nd till the 2nd also. This is the first year that we will be closed. I figured we will be slow and there is no point having everyone standing around trying to look busy. We have had a good year and everyone needs a break.
Thanks everyone for the replies. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all.
