I have finally got in touch with the folks at the official Newtown Memorial Fund. We are discussing possibly doing tee shirts for them (quite a few). Fully donated by us of course. Currently they are still in,their infancy but they are the central repository for all donations and fund,raisers after the disaster. As of yet they are not sure if they need shirts now but maybe so down the road as I said its still all a work in progress for everything.
What I may need is some straight up donated art. Simple as that, my company will pay for all the,shirts and materials. Me and two employees will work on Saturdays on our time. Feels better that way. So art would need to be free as well. We have a six color auto and willing and ready to use all heads. Like I said this is still not a go but may be quite soon. I would not mind a small signature recognizing the artist but nothing more than that, not even our company will be on there, but I respect that artist like to sign their work and rightfully so.
That all said I am open to suggestions,for a theme? The general theme around here in the state has been symbolizing twenty for the children and six for the adults. I have seen twenty stars, candles, flags, angels, you get the idea. I am not really a creative person so I don't know.
If Newtown memorial decides to hold off on shirts for them then I may decide to print and sell our selves and donate all proceeds directly to them. Just a thought.

I'm thinking behind my computer, but am interested to here more about what they might be looking for. I'm wrapped up on time and new projects but feel compelled to assist in some way. Free seps even if not the art also.

Same here as far as the printing goes. We might be able to help with the art side of it but if you guys need help with the printing we would be glad to lend a hand.

Wow everybody I am excited to see the great offers of help.
Things are shaping up, but what I have discovered is the two main funds are completely over whelmed at this point. One fund is dealing with thousands of emails daily, just amazing. I just got done meeting with the owner on this and we are going to do something. Wether we do something directly for the memorial fund or take it upon our selves and sell shirts its going to happen. We have the connections to sell quite a bit on our own.
I will keep things updated as we figure out more.

How about all of use getting together and sale the same design in our area and put that money toward the fund I,m down with doing some. Something like 12/12/12 but with screen printers

Things are evolving. I have something different in mind right now, lets see what you guys think. This is all dependent on me being able to get in touch with their school board and organization.
My thought is providing every single Newtown student with a shirt. Something specific to them and the peers they lost. If I was able to get the student count and an approxiamate ratio of girls to boys I think something like that would be fantastic! Just a thought for now.

Just a heads up.
I have talked with the head of the memorial fund. We are definetely going to move forward with something but not till after the holidays at the least. Amazingly but unfortunately they are receiving more in physical donations than they can handle and organize. And sadly cases of fraud and identity theft for financial benefit is starting to become an issue for the Newtown people. Yes scum bags are out their using identities of the children to try to collect money and many people are running donations using the tragedy for their own pocket. Brian Mauriello who heads the Newtown memorial fund wants to let the dust settle. When we have something in place I will certainly take you guys up on the offers you have made. Also can someone advise us on how to do something like this in a legal transparent way so there is never an issue in question? It turns my stomach to think people would do things to make a profit on a tragedy like this, I understand in our business we cannot run on nothing and we tend to be a go to for memorial type stuff but this tragedy in Newtown has hit me and others around me very hard, it's different than anything else that has happened and no matter how bad the horror the lost children went through their is still hundreds of children and many more family members and first responders going through and dealing with something unspeakable.

I can't help in the screenprinting area but if you decide to embroider anything I can help out with the digitizing.
