Every once in a while I go to check out ever-popular T-Shirt forums.
I got this message when I tried to go there. Anyone else got the same thing?
-
I received that warning a few days ago when I was going to a site I use for checking IP addresses.
1. I also ran the address through Norton and they thought it was fine
2. The warning was gone the next day.
-
I got a similar warning but it was gone in a couple hours....
-
I seem to remember that when I clicked the Learn More tab, it was explained that this information was user generated, so, who knows the accuracy?
I don't get the warning any more, so I can't really verify this.

I would let the moderator know about it. We would certainly want to know if something like it was going on!

The explanation did mention something about third party entities being the possible cause, so I'm betting that some filter didn't like some code in one of the many ads that run there.
-
I think it is more likely that somebody posted some link or malicious code into the post. . .

But around the same time, I received the Chrome warning on a completely different site, also only for a short time.

I am still getting the error at the TSF site . . .

Yep, you are correct sir
-
Yup. I just tried it from my Android phone. I was really surprised to get the same warning on a mobile device, but there it is.
-
Keep in mind that this is only an issue with Chrome. Firefox and IE don't have a similar warning. At any rate, I did drop Rodney a line.
-
Not a fan of Chrome but it could be that only chrome is detecting a real issue.
Or it could be a false positive.
-
chrome and safari is showing me a warning also.
-
My mobile phone IS an Android device which of course is also a Google undertaking, but the browser I use isn't Chrome... at least it isnt connected in any obvious way. I use Opera Mobile, and I definitely get the same warning. I use and am posting on a Samsung Galaxy S3
Now that I think about it, I believe Opera does connect as a sort of "proxy"...rendering pages as a third party somehow. But IE or Firefox don't COMPLETELY escape intersecting the world of Google, do they?
I don't really know what I'm talking about--internet wise, and besides, I rarely post over there anymore. (Lots of awfully pedestrian stuff to sort through to get to the nuggets which are strewn about.)
-
Opera is the best browser, end of story. ;)
I don't think they do proxy stuff, not by third party at least.
I use Opera all day every day on my main computers, I'm not getting the errors or anything on this end but I don't know if it was certain pages or just any page. I only looked at home page and my control panel. I haven't tried on my phone yet though.

Update
Rodney says that they are presently in touch with Google trying to fix it. It will be interesting to learn why some browsers pick up something, while others, as well as Norton Web Safe does not.

I use Firefox and got a similar warning as well.....

Weird, as when I checked both Firefox and IE today, both got me through. I guess that test and resulting post was about six hours ago.
