Ron, Dlac and Lemorris got the art posting momentum going again... let's keep it up!
Not as cool as Lemo's little viddy, but here's a look at some of my favorite car-themed art I've done in the past year. (I have more I will post as I update my blog... some car, some without so much car).
All are drafted in Illustrator and painted in Photoshop, sepped anywhere from 8 to 11 spot colors. Questions, crits and comments welcome.

My only comment is that I'm speechless...

Looks like the stuff I used to print for Acme Apparel

Awesome Scott! I really dig the mustang design! Really clean and sharp! Nice
-
Hey Scott, it was funny timing as we were running a reprint today for this design you did for me a couple years back. Client is still loving the design and ordering shirts every few months! I don't want to hijack your thread but I figured it was a good fit to show one of your designs printed here....
This is a 5 color print on black - Base white, Blue, Yellow, Red, and Gray (no black or highlight white) so it's pretty sweet for the limited amount of colors! Scott's designs print as easy as pie! This job ran 68 doz/hr (might be slow for some but pretty fast for us)

Thanks all!
I remember that one well, Danny. Looks good, glad they like it! Hope all is well with you.

Looks great. Good printer. Good art. Good seps. Mix that up and you're making money.
-
very cool Scott. Lovin the Trans Am. Great detail.
Very cool to see more...now...post more. :)

I always like 'bold' designs, you know, you can see it from 20ft away.
They look nice up close too, cause they make you go have a closer look.
Perfect stuff for a shirt methinks.
You want a crit? haha, right.
Ok, you have a slight tangent between the green and red firebirds.
( which no-one will see anyway :P )
Nice work!
-
Thanks cats!
Good eye Chadwick... yes the lower light is the problem and it bothered me too. I actually tried moving things around but I got tangents elsewhere... the wheel, the grill. Then I actually did say "no one will see it anyway. No one, except... "

I envy you guys. My 3 year old grand daughters stick people kick my stick people's ass. :-[

Great color and contrast.
I really like the paint on the blue mustang.
The only crit I have is the tread or lack thereof.
Still, great work!

Odd, when I type M u s t a n g it changes it to horse...???...
-
Hmmm that's strange... I think that's a brand identity for more than cars. Horse presses.... or that Canton favorite, pressed horse.
Yeah, I cheat my treads when time is tight and focus on the car's faces.

Something must be broken because it should change it to Horses A$$

Is that aimed at me because Scott asked for critique and I gave him an honest one? ???
-
Ron, no... the reason you can't type the "M" word is because this site's moderators regulate SPAM from the manufacturer of a screen printing press with that name. That company is run by THAT GUY who spammed and killed every other forum he's touched, so any mention of him or his company is blocked.
I appreciate your comments and look forward to more art discussions here!

Ohhh...Thanks Scott! :D
I forgot about that guy. :o
Really I am just jealous 'cause they make me draw tread. ;)
-
I usually do draw the tread on open-wheel cars, especially, but multi-car shirts on a tight deadline, I use my friend and ally, SHADOWS! 8)
-
Ahh yes, shadows!
When I can I just draw a small section front and center then surround it with darkness!
We have vector tread files I grab and shoehorn in.
Another friend is the ever popular highlight!
Helps me with suspension and engine "WTF is that" parts. ;D

Dude, those are drag slicks! lol

Yes, that's it! They're all dragsters.
Drag tires are more fun... just like how I prefer drawing sand tires on ATVs over knobby tires! :P

Love your designs! You're amazing!!! Just a thought....
