Title: Brother gt-3xx ink usage
Post by: sweetts on March 24, 2013, 08:15:32 AM
A Question for the brother operators. While at a suppliers open house this week they were showcasing the brother gt-3 DTG printer, when I asked about how Many prints like their sample ( full color, full front on black) you can expect with the small ink cartridges installed  the sales guy says they estimate it to be about 600. After the shirt is weighed they would be more like 4-500 then after cleaning cycles it's like 3-400. So for the smaller 180 cartridges and say we print something everyday, what is a real world estimate?

i haven't had any real world experience with that printer, but I can tell you that Brother CORPORATE over estimates ink usage.  They don't want to get sued, so they are very careful with the numbers.

As far as sales people go, I would be wary of most of the numbers they throw out.  I can put you in touch with a guy I work with, he's a dealer, but when he brings samples by, he's very honest with ink usage and so on.

You know it's a sweat machine but seems pricey to run
